Those are great monitors. I have two of them. Do you have a system for dealing with discoloration when tate'd?
Actually that picture is out of date. I have replaced it with this monitor :

Image

It has no issues with being tate'd. It also supports 240p on up to 1080i natively. Sports RGB and Component ports; has expansion bays for extra inputs (I added two more component ports). The picture is amazing, if you feed a color bar pattern it will auto adust it's color temp settings. I love it, I have two also.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

My only CRT is just a cheapy Panasonic that only has composite inputs, and I haven't tried to TATE it ever.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I HIGHLY recommend it. I scored 2 brand new ones for 200.00 and they were local.

speaking of game storage, does anyone know where one might be able to purchase the same kind of plastic sleeve cases that a lot of used and new japanese games seem to come in? the kind that fit a standard cd jewel case.

I don't know that they have them, but Bags Unlimited would be the first place I'd look.

@brentsg: thanks for tip, i haven't found them yet but i bookmarked the site as i definitely want to pick up some nice storage containers and the like for some of my games.

i don't remember who but there was some collector here who posted some pics of this just mind blowing collection he had, i think it was like a complete collection of psx games or something. but, i remember he had displayed or had mentioned that he kept most his games stored in the kind of plastic sleeves i'm looking for, so the guy must have a source for them. maybe i'll search through the "post a picture of your collection" thread to try and find the guy and send him a pm.

I was also fortunate enough to find one of those locally, and also HIGHLY recommend it. Probably the nicest display I have ever owned.

sweetness, thx man. I'll keep and eye out. The discoloration on my Tate monitors is starting to get to me. As I mostly play Saturn and PCBs it's CRT all the way
