I would have if it didn't completely fall apart about an hour in. Great concept, but they kept it too restrained.powersoul wrote:I'm surprised someone mentioned mirror's edge. I can't even beat the demo, much less the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwDuPgCLmhM
Your favorite games, this entire gen?

Man this is going to be a short list of games but I'd like to pick and chose the best games from all consoles this gen. I'm going to leave out a ton from the list and focus on the really special ones.
PS3
Modern Warfare 2: Probably my most favorite game of this generation. Also most days I've put into a single game ever. The best MW game ever with the right balance in all the right places..... anything after this game caters to the noobs. I'd still play it but because I've been so busy working and there are tons of hackers now online, I rarely touch it
Modnation Championship Racers: This game is so damn good and balanced. None of this Mario Kart BS where the lead player is punished for winning. Balanced, extremely fun and skilled kart game. Too bad the load times are a bit long but its amazingly fun multiplayer game.
Other games worth mentioning on PS3
Nurarihyon no Mago: Hyakki Ryouran Taisen: Did not expect to enjoy this game soo much. I play this game offline with friends with no support or anything just pure characters and its just soo damn fun.
Arcana Heart 3: OMG this game is just so easy to get into and enjoy.
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown: Always loved VF even though I suck at it
Xbox 360: None
Wii
Sin and Punishment 2: Great game... did not let my expectation down.
The list is short but unfortunately for me I've had very little gaming this gen and still back logged since 2000 lol
Edit: If DS is included I'd also mention Jump! Ultimate Stars. Game is super fun without support characters

If you're speaking of its difficulty, then consider me surprised as well, because that was one of the easiest 360 games ever.I'm surprised someone mentioned mirror's edge. I can't even beat the demo, much less the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwDuPgCLmhM

njiska, how was it too "restrained?"

The later half of the game focused far more on narrow hallways and stopping for tactical fights, than on free running. I found you had to slow down often and that just wasn't fun. The openness and speed of the first few chapters was basically lost. I still think it was a great game and would love to see a sequel, but I can't call it a favourite. I'm told the PC version with user content is far better.Siren2011 wrote:njiska, how was it too "restrained?"

Ah, I forgot about Mirror's Edge! Kinda like a first person Sonic, but much better. It's not difficult at all, which is one of its bad things IMO (and the harder mode is just normal mode without visual hints) though you can always try to improve your times. Definitely worth a mention.
Too bad EA canceled the sequel.
