From previous experience in STGTs:
1) Esoteric scoring system with a complexity that cannot be comfortably explored for a newcomer to the game in just 7-14 days
2) A game that has been played by a significant number of people already, leading to a big discrepancy in scores, with people who are already familiar with the scoring system coasting along and people who are not getting frustrated that they cannot perform to their potential in the time frame.
I'm basically playing devil's advocate here. I think all types of shooting game should be explored in the STGT. I just think that if a game is particularly deep, it might be worth sidestepping in favour of simpler games that are easily interpreted, allowing for a more natural scoring system and, as a consequence, a more convivial atmosphere.
But fuck it, regardless of what Cave game is selected, I'm really looking forward to having the impetus to solidly explore it for a whole week.
