It's been over a year since I started work on Hyperspace Invaders Zero (HI0) (shmups thread).
HII is the obvious successor to this first solo gamedev undertaking thing.

So what's new? Well I changed pretty much everything and got rid of superfluous features.
Here's a little list of what to expect:
* 60fps, HD full-on in your face blood-pumping action (i've yet to determine the actual specs but it runs nicely here)
* complete graphics overhaul (particles, sprites, etc.), purified the gameplay (which is about twice as fast as HI0)
* adaptive difficulty (winning makes it harder and vice versa) - it also remembers where you left off.
* 30 difficulty levels (partly generative, partly manual evolution)
* 246 invader waves
* chaotic & hard to predict bullet pattern bosses
* new soundeffects & music (working on that)
* online highscores! (thanks to Clockwork)
* introduction of "button 1" (the "shield + slowdown + secondary fire" button)
Apart from the audio and a few graphical & gameplay tweaks, I (like to) think HII is nearing completion.
I'll probably put it up online for 5 euros or so in the coming weeks.
I'm not sure yet if I want to bother with a demo. I'll first make a gameplay or trailer video.
In the meanwhile, here's some screenies. Hope you like it!
