StarCreator wrote:"Difficulty"? If you mean Novice on/off, probably. If you've been mucking with the settings, changing any of those from the defaults usually disqualifies you from every achievement in the game.
For achievements, changing any options is permitted, including life count and score extends.
The 1cc achievements can't be done in Novice, though, nor can the Shin mode TLB one. The no-form-change 1cc can be done in Novice.
Alright guys, here's the Normal Endings in English with the voices on, took me a while than the True Ending vid, since its 3 separate endings. Thanks again Korz, lol.

Not that I know of, so no, anyways, I could do it, possibly...
Its just a matter of getting all of the cut-scene dialog (Meeting and defeating Sakura [all 5 chars.], Meeting in the forest [1 scene], Jitterbug at sundown [MBL, 1 scene], Beginning of Hades Castle [All 5 chats.], and the scenes of Before/After Jitterbug and T.S. [All 5 chars.])
Then there's the matter of all the endings, plus the 3rd ending for Sakura which requires 2 players.
Lots of hard work there. And have to mix the full voice stuff into the English version.
When I first got this game back on the J360, I didn't play it as much. Now that it's back as a domestic release, I've been playing "Slash" mode for a coupla hours at a time
Anyone else having loading problems with their disc?
Sometimes my disc doesn't launch the game at all. More recently, it's been getting stuck on the loading screen when you return to the main menu from in-game. Loading has been noticeably slower at other times as well.
This does not happen with any of my other 360 discs.

You're doing better than most people on the Euro leaderboards, mate! Hell, I spent hours on it in the first two weeks and have barely broken 300mil.
Mainly due to repeating the same few silly mistakes, though. I think I'll get back into it next week and make better use of the offline modes.
Does anyone feel like the game has a slight input delay by a frame or two? It always feel like it's lagging behind my analog stick. I'm using a wired controller too.

Hahaha. I can barely hack 100 mill before getting blown up completely out of the screen

That's a great score, good stuff. I gave my little bro my copy of AK so I only got the chance to play it again when I visited this weekend gone, and managed to squeeze a meagre 650mil by stg5. Wish I had the game on hand, wanna play more.
One thing I notice about the game is that the final boss feels rather anticlimactic - I don't know if anyone else has the same vibe from it. I don't really like the way you beat the twins on stage 6 and then it just dumps you in a rather unpleasant red vortex to fight some guy out of the blue.
i'm playng akai katana with an arcade stick.
does anyone play it that way? what's your favorite button configuration? and the one of the real cabinet in nippo-land?
thanks
Henshin-a-go-go, baby! (it's not a shmups but i'ts a f###in vieftful game)
Played this quite a bit over the weekend. After much trial & error, I managed to figure out how the scoring system worked. In doing so, I then understood why the game bombed in Japan. That said, it's far from terrible. Out of the 8 Cave games I've played thus far, I'd rank it somewhere in the middle (below Deathsmiles/Futari BL, above Ketsui/Guwange). Gameplay aside, I really like all of the game's aesthetics. Couldn't really hear the music due to the environment in which I played the game, so no opinion on that.

Tru dat. It's a bit like watching TV in America and when the show you're watching cuts to a commercial break, you wait patiently for it to return, and when it does... it's just the credits.
I like Akai Katana a lot, but it feels like such a brief experience and what you've described certainly contributes to that feeling of brevity.
Kudos on the scores, though. I'm rubbish at it.

So, I haven't seen it posted here, but somebody on GameFAQs claims there is an article in a British magazine which states that Rising Star Games and CAVE have ended their relationship.
I really wouldn't be surprised. Everything currently points to Cave going through a transitional period of scaling back, pulling out of the console/arcade/merchandise markets, and becoming a mobile/social-only developer.
Cave shop closes, vice president leaves, Vita projects canceled, no revision or port of SDOJ in sight. The ship is sinking. They'll probably port a couple more 360 games to NESiCA after AKS comes out and then call it a day. I don't think even the iOS shmup ports are a viable source of income anymore, they're too expensive and there isn't a wide enough market for them. Just look at how they had to add pay-to-win DLC and inflate the price of Futari Black Label. A Deathsmiles 3 or Mushi 3 might be able to save them, but they don't have the resources to make it anymore. They're going to have to rely on casual time-wasters like Bug Panic and Shirotsuku to stay afloat, or maybe they'll get recruited to work on another MMO.
Seems like this is happening everywhere in the industry these days. New Valkyria Chronicles sequel is a card battle browser game! Mistwalker gives up on consoles and RPGs to make an iOS surfing app! Really depressing.

old news, Estebang
Ah. I thought I recognised that weirdly-knowledgeable-without-any-real-basis posting format.
This is getting ridiculous. Previously it was just slow loading; now, every time I start up the game, the Xbox 360 gets stuck on a black screen. I can't get out of the black screen by any means until I turn the console off and on again.

No one else is getting this?
Nope. You could try clearing your system cache from the system menu. If that doesn't help, your disc may be borken.
Or your Xbox - a while back, mine started to freeze while loading a specific game (Burnout Paradise), just before RROD'ing.
