They all feel like the same game with the same art assets and patterns and shit, all characters are too slow and/or underpowered for the game to be fun, Dragon Blaze is out, and Zero Gunner 2 isn't emulated well as far as I remember (even if it does, it's very unlikely it'd be chosen anyway). Those two are the only two Psikyo games I'd enjoy playing for score, the rest don't feel like I'm exploring something new or uncovering the depth of something underrated; the opposite does take place.
You would probably think differently if you actually tried to understand how the games work. Because pretty much all your complaints are wrong (particularly laughable is your complaint of characters being underpowered).
The only real valid complaint I can see against Psikyo games in general is the retarded random stage order.
As for last year's STGT, except for 1944 the games were fine IMO. I remember Sikraiken actually figured out the "random" extend system in Daioh and managed to get 2UPs consistently. The hump bug in P47 aces was silly looking, but it was also pretty damn tough to pull off, so who cares? A scoring system is good as long as it demands skill from the players. Gokuparo is awesome, as was Blade Buster. I think the game selection was overall alright.
The only thing that I would change is to make submitting replays of your final score mandatory to reduce/avoid cheating.
