RayStorm released on iOS

Post by astroid »

Game released! http://ax.itunes.apple.com/app/id526687813?mt=8 :!:

Excellent performance! On my iPod touch4 runs very well! They make "Move ratio" option to switch sensitivity. Aspect ratio 4:3, so we have a black borders on both sides.

:D

And proper aspect ratio too! If people chip in about their performance on their models and it turns good they may have indeed learnt from their mistakes with RayForce!

Maybe we can get a port on a real game system next, Taito... Please?
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Try it on Japanese PS3 or USA 360. Forced 16:9 but its a decent port.
A Hardcore gamers reaction to the Lack of Kinect games. Apparently i could of played Dodonpachi with it if i beat a entirely in Japanese Visual Novel piece of shit game called Instant Brain

I'm interested in the fact they included the neutanz music for all the tracks. I thought only a few tracks got the neutanz treatment.

While I'd like this for the ipod touch, I have a feeling that it wouldn't play all that well ;_;

At least a new generation of gamers can experience the amazing music of Tamayo Kawamoto... that is, if said new-generation of gamers actually pick up the game!
EDIT: I know it's somewhat off-topic, but between the Saturn version and PS1 version, is there that much of a major difference between the ports of Raystorm? I don't have regular access to a PS1/PS2, but most people say that version is far superior. From what I've seen, the two are roughly equivalent in price.

i tried those (rayforce and raystorm) on my PSP (a copy of the PS1 version), and there you can play it quite good... so, a compilation of those for the PSvita or the 3DS should work (it would for me!).

If they're not going to do a Universal version so it looks decent on the new iPad, then I'm not interested.

What I noticed is that the PS1 version tears (IIRC) while the Saturn version frameskips, which is actually pretty jarring (and is missing translucencies; dunno if that's an issue for you). The Saturn port seemed very good aside from that. The PS1 version got a US release and I remember it being cheap. A quick look at eBay shows the PS1 domestic release being half the price.
