Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Yeah it's the same for max and reg. It shouldn't really matter but I do find that it slightly diminishes my drive to score well. In most Cave titles you need at least a basic understanding to get to the second extend, but in this mode you can just hold down shot and stay alive and you'll have them both by level 3 with minimal effort.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
game arrived yesterday and i had a blast trying out every mode possible with all the shot variations. Love 1.5 and the arrange mode too. 1cc'ed Novice with wide shot just for fun on the 1st try. Stage 3 seems to be quite hard...
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
should be probably in the strategy section :
at stage 2 at those flowers that open where you can shed a lot of gems out of them staying a little below them, they sometimes don't shed the gems at all. i'm maintaining the same distance as before, tried different shot types or even stop shooting at all. it happens quite randomly.
also on some of the parts on stage 3 this also occures.

Maybe you're a bit too far below? You can sit right on top of them.matrigs wrote:at stage 2 at those flowers that open where you can shed a lot of gems out of them staying a little below them, they sometimes don't shed the gems at all. i'm maintaining the same distance as before, tried different shot types or even stop shooting at all. it happens quite randomly.

What part of stage 3 are you referring to?
Edit* Nevermind, I didn't realise this was about 1.5, I thought you just meant the bushes in stage 2.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
There's a point on the screen where enemies don't shed gems anymore; it's probably 1/2 or 2/3 of the way down. It's easy to see when the bushes in stage 2 will stop producing, and some of the parts in stage 3 are never high enough to give you gems. I'm not sure if this is 1.5 Original or just Original Max.matrigs wrote:should be probably in the strategy section :

In Original Max, your counter will rise if you are in the bottom half of the screen. Nothing huge, but I was very confused about why I seemed to start with random values on my counter until I figured that out.
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
yey, was in fact depending on the position on screen. thanks for that.
i really like 1.5. i'd prefer the original music in the original modes but i don't think the arranged music is bad.
i still have to argue if 1.5 original is easier than futari bl original. i've played this for several hours and i am still
nowhere near clearing it. i was convinved that it's just a lack of stamina but i launched a round of futari and
actually broke my score record, everything after a few weeks of not playing it.

You can certainly adjust which music (original or arrange) plays in both arcade mode and arrange mode, whether you can do that for 1.5 as well I don't know because I haven't redeemed my code yet.matrigs wrote:yey, was in fact depending on the position on screen. thanks for that.

To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
You can, thank God. The 1.5 music hurts my ears literally. So weird sounding. Shame, because I would like it if it wasn't do weirdly "tinny".
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
I finally chewed the shrink wrap off my copy and gave it a try.
Am I the only one that thinks Mushihimesama sucks? 1.5 Original with MAX is pretty fun, but everything else is weak. I like the look of the game, but the shot types, the way the counter works, and the level design are so off to me. Stage 3 I especially hate, and I don't even really know why.

It's definitely not one of my favorites, but I like it. I don't think it sucks, no.

is there any point to picking up the trace option or should you avoid it like plague?
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
Depends on the level and game mode. On original mode trace type makes killing the boss without killing the legs for maximum bonus points much easier. On Maniac it makes sky-rocketing the counter easier on non-max mode.
Formation is MUCH better for stage 3 though survival wise.
As you get better at the game in non-max mode trace makes scoring better it seems.

Yikes, with standard shipping in a box this game set me back $100! It's nice, though, that I could still get a first-print copy from Play-Asia at the original price. I guess I'll have to set up a Japanese Live account so I can get that 1.5 version. Even with that added bonus, though, I don't see myself getting $100 worth of enjoyment from this game.

Try buying the PCB for $400-$500professor ganson wrote:Yikes, with standard shipping in a box this game set me back $100! This is a better value with more play options and a HD upgrade. I think it is worth the $100.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
My thinking was the same. I didn't care much for the game after playing the PS2, but I also thought my lack of excitement might be due in part to the less than stellar port. Spending $100 is definitely preferable to spending $400 to see better what this game is all about.

And you can't buy a v1.5 PCB for 500 bucks anyway.Tokyo-J wrote:Try buying the PCB for $400-$500professor ganson wrote:Yikes, with standard shipping in a box this game set me back $100! AmiAmi, my good man, AmiAmi. Wait around long enough (or sometimes pre-order) and everything goes on sale. My LE was the same price as Play-Asia's standard edition. Unfortunately, if you wait around too long they do eventually sell out completely.professor ganson wrote:Yikes, with standard shipping in a box this game set me back $100! Indeed buy it now or you will lose the chance to play 1.5.MSZ wrote:And you can't buy a v1.5 PCB for 500 bucks anyway.Tokyo-J wrote:Try buying the PCB for $400-$500professor ganson wrote:Yikes, with standard shipping in a box this game set me back $100! Thanks for the AmiAmi tip! And great point about the cost of a 1.5 PCB. Never thought about that. Feeling better about the purchase already.

Just downloaded 1.5. Both original and 1.5 look terrific on my current set-up. Much brighter and more detailed than the PS2 port I played some years ago. Glad I waited for my b-day to play it.

Are there any other 360 shmups that come with free DLC besides Futari 1.01 and Mushi 1.5? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

If you want to get technical you could also say the Platinum JP release of Deathsmiles (includes Black Label) and the US and EU releases as well (Black Label and 1.1). The JP releases also came with lesser pre-order DLC in the form of extra voices/music, as did Akai Katana.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360) 24th May 2012
I found the DLC cards for MMP/PS and DFK 1.51, but I didn't see anything in my US release of Deathsmiles. Are the things you mention immediately available on the disc without doing any downloading? (I know I could just pop the game in to check, but maybe I'm misunderstanding your post from the start.)BulletMagnet wrote:If you want to get technical you could also say the Platinum JP release of Deathsmiles (includes Black Label) and the US and EU releases as well (Black Label and 1.1). I'm personally really confused about what you're asking in the first place. JP DLC isn't going to work on the not-JP releases.professor ganson wrote:I found the DLC cards for MMP/PS and DFK 1.51, but I didn't see anything in my US release of Deathsmiles. There are three DLCs for Deathsmiles in JP, only one of which was a preorder bonus (full voice for Arcade/360/1.1). MBL and MBL 1.1 are DLC modes in JP, but MBL was included on-disc with the Platinum Hits version. None of this is available in the NA/EU releases, as MBL and MBL 1.1 were integrated into the main game for those releases and support for the full voice option is absent.

There isn't, all the DLC is already on the disc apart from the full voice option which isn't available outside of the JP version.
