That would be fantastic Blackoak!blackoak wrote:What's the relationship between M-kai and Qute? There's a great M-kai developer interview I found online, done by a shmup programmer/fan, talking fairly deeply about Eschatos, JSS, and Cardinal Sins... going to try and translate it sometime next month.
Oh come on, Mushi was just released about two weeks ago how can you already be dying for a new release?Casper<3 wrote:Finally, something on the horizon!

Yeah or maybe a NEW game, not a port. Mushi isnt a new game it was released 2004 if I remember correct.stryc9 wrote:I think what he's trying to say is that it's nice to see another STG from someone other than CAVE every once in a while.
I know region-free discussion is taboo 'round these parts, but I've already emailed Qute asking for region-free possibility. I encourage you to do the same [info AT qute.co.jp]. It seems to have worked for Bullet Soul (I met the guys in person and pestered them until they said they'd look into it). Of course this was prior to Cave's declarations.Op Intensify wrote:It's also too bad that Microsoft Japan no longer allows region-free games. Guess I'll have to sit this one out.
It lists the genre as Vertical Scroll Shooting.Bee Cool wrote:Has it been confirmed that this is a vertical shmup?
Come on. I love Mushi. ...but it's not new by any means. This will give me something to look forward to since odds of SDOJ getting ported to 360 are very low.Bee Cool wrote:Oh come on, Mushi was just released about two weeks ago how can you already be dying for a new release?Casper<3 wrote:Finally, something on the horizon!
Casper<3 wrote:So this port just arrived today and with the DLC. Thank you play-asia for always coming through. All I can say is this game is so badass. It reminds me of why I first got into CAVE games. Plus I finally realize, as someone who has played the ps2 port exclusively that a lot of my deaths in PS2 was simply from not seeing the bullet. I love the clear updated visuals. This came before Futari, and like this it looks good enough to be a sequel. Now I know some people were complaining about how barebones this port is. 1st I would like to remind you of how barebones the PS2 port was. This has all that, updated, another mode, replays & leaderboards. It's far from barebones, and if you think that 3 modes (granted you got the DLC, I feel sorry for any one who doesn't get it) is slim pickings, I have to disagree when all 3 modes are such quality.
Even if Qute wants to make it region-free they can't do anything about it anymore. G-Rev tried to release the 360 version of Under Defeat HD as unlocked and they were blocked by MS. Company policy now; probably a desperate attempt at curbing piracy/Western imports in response to the platform's steep decline in Japan.denpanosekai wrote:I know region-free discussion is taboo 'round these parts, but I've already emailed Qute asking for region-free possibility. Microsoft's policies change so quickly that it would not surprise me if things are different now compared to when Under Defeat was released. There hasn't exactly been a flood of Japanese games in other regions' Games on Demand services, which is presumably the sort of thinking that motivated the previous change in policy.Op Intensify wrote:Even if Qute wants to make it region-free they can't do anything about it anymore. I guess you J-360 devotees have another game to call your own!
Either way, you did the right thing. In my experience doujin/smaller studios greatly enjoy hearing from overseas fans, even if they might not get back at you right away. I also told them I love Yousuke Yasui soundtracks and am hoping they'll sign him up once again.Op Intensify wrote:Well, I sent Qute an email just in case anyway.
Considering there is only just over two and a half months to release, I would say that stuff like this would already be locked in. But let's hope it is Yousuke Yasui, ehdenpanosekai wrote: I also told them I love Yousuke Yasui soundtracks and am hoping they'll sign him up once again.
