Is M-Kai involved? Either way I'm definitely hyped for more info. Will preorder the moment it's announced to be region free (hopefully) :P.

What's the relationship between M-kai and Qute? There's a great M-kai developer interview I found online, done by a shmup programmer/fan, talking fairly deeply about Eschatos, JSS, and Cardinal Sins... going to try and translate it sometime next month.

That art looks very mediocre, though it might be unfinished. It's also too bad that Microsoft Japan no longer allows region-free games. Guess I'll have to sit this one out.

Oh come on, Mushi was just released about two weeks ago how can you already be dying for a new release?

More on topic though, I can't wait for some videos. Eschatos wasn't really my thing, but if they make this game with some fresh concepts I'll definitely pick it up.

I think what he's trying to say is that it's nice to see another STG from someone other than CAVE every once in a while.

How is it possible to have illustrations that bad?

There's a million doujin artists out there more talented than that making survival wages or none at all. Qute clearly has no meaningful budget for their games, but jesus you don't even really need one to get some decent art.

Eschatos had no characters, just awesome looking ships. Why did things need to change here?

Yeah or maybe a NEW game, not a port. Mushi isnt a new game it was released 2004 if I remember correct.
Will be cool to see what this can be :P

I know region-free discussion is taboo 'round these parts, but I've already emailed Qute asking for region-free possibility. I encourage you to do the same [info AT qute.co.jp]. It seems to have worked for Bullet Soul (I met the guys in person and pestered them until they said they'd look into it). Of course this was prior to Cave's declarations.

Come on. I love Mushi. ...but it's not new by any means. This will give me something to look forward to since odds of SDOJ getting ported to 360 are very low.

From the Mushithreadsama
Casper<3 wrote:So this port just arrived today and with the DLC. Thank you play-asia for always coming through. All I can say is this game is so badass. It reminds me of why I first got into CAVE games. Plus I finally realize, as someone who has played the ps2 port exclusively that a lot of my deaths in PS2 was simply from not seeing the bullet. I love the clear updated visuals. This came before Futari, and like this it looks good enough to be a sequel. Now I know some people were complaining about how barebones this port is. 1st I would like to remind you of how barebones the PS2 port was. This has all that, updated, another mode, replays & leaderboards. It's far from barebones, and if you think that 3 modes (granted you got the DLC, I feel sorry for any one who doesn't get it) is slim pickings, I have to disagree when all 3 modes are such quality.

Well most of us don't own a pcb of Mushi or 1.5 (and the majority of us don't own either), so it really is giving us both new and fixed/updated content we didn't have access to.

I'll drop it, it's just a little strange how people always act like we barely get any releases but when you look at other genres we have been getting a a ton more quality content each year since like 2009 than almost all other "popular" areas of games.

New Qute game, get hype!

I think the character designs actually look pretty awesome in a retro throwback kind of way... they've got an early 90's anime kind of look to them.

Even if Qute wants to make it region-free they can't do anything about it anymore. G-Rev tried to release the 360 version of Under Defeat HD as unlocked and they were blocked by MS. Company policy now; probably a desperate attempt at curbing piracy/Western imports in response to the platform's steep decline in Japan.

I guess you J-360 devotees have another game to call your own!

Microsoft's policies change so quickly that it would not surprise me if things are different now compared to when Under Defeat was released. There hasn't exactly been a flood of Japanese games in other regions' Games on Demand services, which is presumably the sort of thinking that motivated the previous change in policy.

Either way, you did the right thing. In my experience doujin/smaller studios greatly enjoy hearing from overseas fans, even if they might not get back at you right away. I also told them I love Yousuke Yasui soundtracks and am hoping they'll sign him up once again.

Don't you just love getting up and readying yourself for a day of study only to recieve a call from someone telling you it's a public holiday? Awesome :D

Considering there is only just over two and a half months to release, I would say that stuff like this would already be locked in. But let's hope it is Yousuke Yasui, eh :P

Eschatos couldn't have sold too badly if they commissioned this.

And something tells me the cover art is not quite finished, for those individuals having concerns over it...
