Yes. They use the exact same code and display method and are marked as endings internally to the game.

Therefore they are valid endings, no quotes about it.

Edit: And I do not mean the SNATCHES things that show up. Those are different.

One thing I'm kinda curious about is that text that appears on top of the "lifebar" near the end of Shrine of Farewell against that sphere thing. That stuff flashes and switches so fast that I wonder if one would ever be able to read it.

We actually did translate this. (This is at odds with most of the pattern names, which we left alone since they came with perfectly good Engrish which was similar enough in meaning to the Japanese.)

I'll explain what it is... after we get things out.

Read the link, names are mentioned there.
Major thanks go out to our long-suffering coder mauve, Nazerine for translation of near-incomprehensible Japanese, Halbarad for image editing, and special thanks to TMN for help with various elements of the patch.
Poor mauve. And thanks :)

Well then, my thanks goes out to all those people who have finally made this great game more accessible.

Would you like some feedback on specific things? I'm noticing a typo/spelling error already unless that was intentional.

Fire away, point out anything you like. But, we did leave enemy pattern names alone, as well as most of the existing engrish text. This is intentional. I expect some of that is going to sound a bit off to people.

But if it's in the story dialogue, either in stage or in one of the novel parts, then yeah that's our fault.

Worlds do not describe how grateful I am for this.

Only issue I have is losing lives due to trying to read the text.

Hahaha, Darius... I know, right? :P
Personally, I set the text to only display during replays, then watch them. Maybe you should, too.

So anyway, thanks to you and your team, Mauve. I am reading the manual and it seems like you guys did a great job. There are numerous minor mistakes, and you gave two different names to some attacks, but I don't even mind.

On an unrelated note: are you able to extract graphics from the game? I saw on your Twitter the main menu of the game with the MORATORIUM glyph (I think that's how Tonnor calls it, at least that's how the mouse pad with this symbol is called in store) on it. It looks so pretty, I resized it and set it to my wallpaper. Now if only there was a way to extract the graphics... perhaps they are in vector format. 640x480 is a pretty small resolution these days so on my monitor the picture looks blurry.

Oh, and by the way: could someone tell me what Tonnor himself thinks of your work? Did you guys exchange any words? I have no idea what he writes on his Twitter. I only see pictures of video games, his own games, Hellsinker included, knives, food and disturbing manga. So it's hard to tell. I hope he likes it.
To be continued. See you false memory syndrome...

Feel free to point out any specific stuff. The manual's finalization was really hasty since I think everyone was starting to get sick of working on the game at that point, so errors there would not surprise me. In-game things have been gone over a lot more overall. I don't know if we'll do an update but if we do we'll try to get everything we know about fixed.

No vector information besides 3d model data, which I never bothered looking into. All raster textures. The background screencap was taken by modifying the game's main menu code and eliminating the parts that display the menu itself. Nothing fancy but not terribly useful either.

He gave us the okay to release it, and he's already tried the translation himself. He seems to like the story font we used but isn't as sure about the dialogue font. (To be fair, neither are we, but it won out over a lot of other options.) Beyond that, heck if I know.

So there is no way to assign a slow movement button for keyboard controls? Or can I change the pad controls and the corresponding keyboard buttons will be changed as well?

Thanks for this patch!

This. The Slow movement button isn't mapped to anything at first. Sadly, that's the extent of Hellsinker's keyboard configuration.

BTW... there are 3 graphical issues I've found:

Image

I've allways remembered the portals as some spiky light...

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee20 ... ERR2HS.png (SPOILERS)

Take a look at the mistletoes.. that rectangle orbitates all the time around then in every form of the last boss. Also, The name of the enemy isn't properly shown, it changes all the time in some inintelligible simbols... unless it was like that on the original game...

that's all I've found...

Some graphical effects changed in .9 and look different from they did in .8f, and that was one of the first ones I noticed. I don't think that one is our doing, though I'll compare with the JP build tonight just to make sure. Try turning the detail level up maybe.

That rectangle does indeed appear to be our fault. Photoshop doing some dumb things to pixels supposedly invisible in the alpha channel. Dunno how I never noticed it though.

The name, however, is correct.

Thanks also for the translated manual. I now have a grip on the scoring system and I'm finally getting those elusive "wink!" high-spirit kill sound effects that taunted me from those scoring demonstration youtube videos. Now I understand what the orange end of fossilmaiden's sword is meant for.

It's like a brand new game!

Yeah, just checked the texture files, we goofed on the final boss. Thanks for the report.

That'll make sure we do an update sometime soon, so please report anything else you guys note.

Edit: Yeah the segment 5 circles doesn't look like anything we did.

I don't have all my observations put together so I'll just mention one thing for now. I noticed in the Prestory section of the instruction manual the word "Extacies". Is there a reason this was used instead of "ecstacies"?

Beat my old high score while playing through to see the game's later text. 8)
