Doing the update is easy, as soon as plugged the eathernet cable in it prompted the download, console relaunches once or twice and I was good to go. Once you have Mushi disk in hit the home button and press left a bunch until you see "Redeem Code", input that rediculously long code on the back of your DLC card for the 1.5 goodness.
So if I don't "update" my console, the disc will not play?!

why are you so hesistant update?

isn't the update on the disc itself? I don't you'll have to go online if that's the problem.

The update comes with the disc, then. I don't have to log in or do anything online or with "live," right :?:

I'm about 99% that system update is on the disc, meaning there's no need to sign in to apply it.

I'm still in to play this game on my crappy CRT. Just ordered the SExy version from play-asia a few hours ago 'cause I had a $5 coupon lying around (free shipping, really) 8)

Not being on Live means you're not using the 1.5 code... so what's the point of even getting the game?

You can also download dashboard updates from the web and save it to a flash drive, then update your 360 that way, if you don't want to take your 360 online.

http://www.xbox.com/system-update-usb
Copy to a USB flash drive

If you cannot connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet, you can copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive and then install it on the console.

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.

Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
Download the update file.
Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
Unzip the file. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your flash drive.
Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
Restart the console.
When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

I'm not usually one to care about soundtracks, but I'm really loving the arranged mixes. Stage 3 gets particularly butt-rock which is only fitting against a background that looks to be lifted straight out of Elemental Master.

Got my copy today, thanks to UPS. The new arranged tracks are gorgeous, really. Especially the new last boss track (not true last boss) in arrange mode kicks ass.

Btw:
To everyone who thinks "Novice HA, HA, LOLZ" - try Novice Ultra, I tried it......not so much lolz there.

A shame it's region locked, it sounds like this is a really awesome game =(. I really don't want to shell out for a J-360 this late in the system's lifespan.

Original MAX is goddamn great. Can't wait to go home and try this on a decent screen, it's been a while since a mode grabbed me like this.

Also, the Arrange OST is really excellent. I especially like Stage 4, though it doesn't sound like STG music at all, haha.

Not wanting to sign up for a free service just seems like a really silly reason to not use some of the content you've paid for, especially when said content is the highlight of the port for some. To all their own I guess...

If you're really not going to use it, at least sell it off at some point so someone else who didn't get it can.

The games for it are still there, so it's no different than buying any other dead console at this point. I was lucky to get a refurbished NTSC 360 for free from one of my brothers, so it was no biggie buying an Asia 360 (except for replacing that 220V AC adapter with a North American 110V D:< ). Although if you're only getting one to play shoot-'em-ups, then your region-locked choices are limited to: Shooting Love 20XX (do people here dig Triangle Service games?), Radirgy NOA, Otomedius Gorgeous (sucks), Strike Witches (sucks), Senko No Rond DUO, Shikigami No Shiro III, and a coupla more. It seems as if some of the best shoot-'em-ups were already ported to NTSC and PAL, or are already region-freedom 8)

True enough. It seems to me like the big, "must have" exclusives at this point are Ketsui and now this game. I seem to recall the KetsuiPachi arrange on DFK BL is also Japan only, if I'm not mistaken.

Two games that I don't play very often haha. I seem to recall there was a Ketsui for the Nintendo DS, but that one is worth so much now, you might as well buy a J360. Well, now there's also Mushihimesama HD, which looks like a lot of fun 8)

It's not the full game, though. Ketsui Death Label was released on the DS. Basically a boss rush with an "extra" stage to play through. Not worth the money, imo.

DDP DOJ BLEX is a good port as long as you're able to patch it. X-Mode is pretty fun and exclusive to the 360 port.

I'm trying to imagine playing Ketsui on a DS, and I can only imagine getting really frustrated with the tiny screens. I might be wrong, but it seems like the 360 version would be a lot more comfortable to play.

As mentioned before, Ketsui on DS is nothing. Just a boss rush, with different modes.

It sucks that no one brought Ketsui or DDP BL(and this one isn't totally necessary) over here. If only those, and Mushi(which I think has a decent chance) were brought over, I wouldn't have to worry about getting another expensive J-360, when this one breaks down.

So do I get the 1.5 DLC card if I order this one from this page?
It doesn't say anything in the description..
As it's only been out a matter of days, you would have to logically assume this are still pre-order editions...... it's not like the market is big enough to make 100,000's of these in several press run's either. I think you'll be alright. ;)

Do the controls feel laggy to anyone else compared to Futari? Does Mushihimesama have more native input delay than other Cave titles?

... or am I just imagining things?

It doesn't seem bad when I'm twitching to bullet herd. Mostly when I try to make hooks or check marks during switchbacks.

M2's Futari port had an ajustable input delay and it if you set this to zero (along with deactivated backgrounds to avoid tearing), then Futari had less delay than all the in-house Cave ports including the new Mushihimesama.
