Decided against ordering this because I'm trying to save money. Hope I don't have regrets!
NO DLC FOR YOU..... either!!
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Arranged mode is awesome.

I continued once and still fought the TLB in arranged mode, talk about some amazing screen filling bullet patterns. You can also change your shot type on the fly in arranged mode with the 4th button.

So, do the graphics look nice? Overly smooth, or just about right?

Graphics blow away the PS2 port.
I just tried 1.5 Original-MAX for the first time....

:D

Hahahaha this game is amazing!

Just like in PS2 Arrange. What they did change, other than the counter beginning at 300,000, is that each life only gets a single auto-bomb. In PS2 Arrange, every bomb in stock is an auto-bomb.
Slowdown in 360 Arrange gets particularly dire when you do any Nana bush milking... like the game practically comes to a screeching halt.

Also, I didn't see it mentioned earlier, but the ver 1.5 DLC is only a 1.5 MB download... so it's definitely on-disc DLC.

One last thing... there's a really odd display glitch with the wallpapers. After setting the overscan and adjusting the wallpaper brightness to 0% (I'm playing on a tate 4:3 SD-TV), I've noticed that any time the game loads, it suddenly knocks the overscan down a couple of percents and flashes the wallpaper at full brightness for a moment. Once it finishes loading, everything returns to how it was set.

Also also... has anyone messed around with the auto-fire frequencies yet? What are recommendations for A-Ren and C-Ren?

And yet another edit... I'm pretty sure they removed the pixel flash from the hit-box when you're not using Shot.

Arrange OST > 1.5 OST

Clearly.

I would be interested to know if this is a Region Free game, as I haven't got a Japanese console. Would be demoralizing to get a game I can't run =P.

The arranged soundtrack sounds really good.

Okay, stream done - you can still watch the recording of my plays (and zero-day leaderboard replays) until whenever Twitch decides to delete them.

Also, I got the top score on the Ultra leaderboard! (lol)

Looks like they took a lot of menu design influences from the ports of DDP:R with how most of it's layed out, as well as Akai Katana with the mode selection.

A question: does 4:3 mode just work "out-of-the-box" like DDP:R and Galuda 2 or is there a Wide Mode toggle like there is with Akai Katana?

4:3 just works, none of that wide nonsense.

I just barely got my first 1CC in 1.5 original MAX, it was unbelievably fun! 0L 0B sock, down to the wire... victory!

Not entirely sure what's going on with the glowing blue bullets, but damn, this mode is very nice looking!

As I'm quite unskilled, I had quite a good time with Futari 1.5's Novice Ultra Mode. The simplified patterns still seemed challenging enough that I felt accomplished after getting through them, and I recall being able to either clear the whole game in one credit or come close. I don't remember exactly, but I feel like it had to have autobomb.

Well, Mushi HD's Novice Ultra Mode does not have autobomb, and it seems a lot harder. The first boss squashed me. I felt better playing non-Novice Original, where I reached Stage 4 on the second try...

And yeah, I was also disappointed to find that autobomb in Arrange Mode now empties your bomb stock. You can still use multiple bombs, if you're more mindful about when to use them than I.

Between this and my brief time with Akai Katana so far, I'm feeling pretty inept. Awesome! lol

As far as the presentation, it is very reminiscent of almost all Cave ports on 360 so far. The sprites were all redrawn and definitely look "HD;" the backgrounds look about the same as the 240p originals, especially when "smoothing" is turned off. The options, modes, etc. all feel about the same as, say, the Espgaluda II or Daifukkatsu ports.

As mentioned already (I think), available modes out of the box are "Xbox 360," "Novice" and "Arrange," and you get the usual Play, Score Attack and Training. (For whatever reason, Training is not available for Novice mode. Also, it seemed like Training wasn't always assigning the correct number of lives...when I started in Stage 4 or 5 it was giving one extra.)

I haven't redeemed the DLC yet...actually, I've never redeemed a Cave DLC code. Do I need a Japanese LIVE account to do that, or will my North American account work?

You'll almost certainly need a Japanese gamertag to redeem it. Once redeemed any gamertag can use it as long as you're running on the same 360 it was originally downloaded to.

Yep i confirm that... when i changed my console for a black new model, only my original account could use futari DLC, the others on the machine could not (minor complaint though xD it s not complicated to swith profiles).

I think you can transfer the licenses to a new console anyway.

Sounds like the same downloadable content rules as usual (including the bit about license transfer. I wonder if license transfer for a Japanese account works on a different region's Xbox Web site?). I guess I'll try it on my own account, and if it doesn't work, I'll make a Japanese account. It can't be that hard (I wouldn't be shocked if there was a guide right here on Shmups Forum). Thank you =)

Question: I downloaded Muchi Pork Matsuri on my J360, but it's on a different hard drive than the one I recently bought to use with my J360, since I was sick of switching. Is there any way to download it again, so I have it on my J360 AND new hard drive? That should work, right? The license is on my J360, I just don't have that original profile or hard drive on there anymore. I could add the profile if I needed to, but is there an easy way to get Matsuri on there? I don't want to split up my DLCs between two hard drives.

You need the profile that bought it, at least for downloading it. Once you have the profile, go to the profile's "download history". It's a list of everything the profile ever downloaded. Scroll through for the DLC you want and select "download again". As far as I know this is the only way to redownload things that aren't visible on the marketplace.

You could remove the profile after downloading if you like, assuming the DLC's license is for the same console you're using. If not there is a legitimate way to move the license to your new console, which you should do if you want to access the DLC using other accounts.

I totally forgot about that cheesy sound effect when using bombs. Got a giggle out of me for a few seconds at least.

Got mine in this morning. Great game. I love the updated graphics. Slowdown feels different from the PCB and PS2 version however.

Still a great port and glad they released it!

Now they need to bring out Espgaluda , Esprade and Fever SOS. And maybe Ibara!
A Hardcore gamers reaction to the Lack of Kinect games. Apparently i could of played Dodonpachi with it if i beat a entirely in Japanese Visual Novel piece of shit game called Instant Brain
