TOOHOO IZ HOARDR

Post by Seppo Hovi »

I was reluctant at first, but finally came to agree with this statement after I read calmicy's article "On Why Touhou is Harder and Those Who Don't Agree Are Fagoots". The thing to consider here is: although we've all enjoyed playing CAVE GAMES (it's by 2-ALL'in DOJBL, for instance, that you get to see thousands of people worship you, all of their coolest congratiulations-messages, and experience some of the forums' best best sequences. And there's at least a tiny bit of enjoyment to be had from actually clearing a game that possibly was hard.), wouldn't it be better if the game had moar loli grills? I do want all the frantic action, but I want to play for the reward of being able to see those neatly drawn lolita gurls as well as the beautiful concept-art and the next-to awesome dialogue that follows, rather than a ton of giant spaceships flying at each other.

The aesthetic reward and the possibility of yuri subtext in (and finally the seeing of) an ADVENTURE has so much more value to me than a mere achieving of a 2-ALL (especially since the community usually rewards you for things that don't even make sense, like clearing an easy game nobody has done ever before or some shit), or the reputation of a good spot on the CAVELITISTS-list, even if I managed to top every one of them on this forum. I've had so much more fun with my shooting games since I started playing Touhou.

The title of the article by the way is rather harsh, but comically accurate when you think about it. I'm a child with disorders within the autism spectrum and basically I have obscenely focused interests. Every single human does, and it has nothing to do with autism, but whatever.

Here's my favourite quote from the piece, mostly for the fact that it makes no sense at all:

Spalex Riegraad wrote:
Consider, for example ... what would have happened to the 2hu gaems if, instead of hunting for mechanics-altering and progress-enabling items, you were hunting for boxes with random numbers on them — boxes whose only function would be to increase your score, so that by finding more of them than other players WHO ARE NOT EVEN PRESENT IN THE GAMEWORLD you'd manage to beat their high scores. The entire series' atmosphere would have been instantly wrecked this way — which is the exact opposite to what would happen if pure scoring mechanics in scoring games were replaced with hawt loli gurls and good subtext in between them.

But please do try to track down the article for yourselves (just do a Moogle search) to get the full story. There are a lot of commas I might get wrong and a tno of spelin errs, since I not nateive english sprk.

:D I hope you all like Vacuums.

This is the single greatest thread that has ever existed in the history of this forum.

I applaud you, good sir. Have an image macro.

I am turned on by this.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

:? Unsure if this thread is someone from:-

1:shrinemaiden
2:Icy
3: that Touhou fan I was trolling on You Tube the other day.

However since I was got the popcorn out as soon as I saw the thread header, care to post that original "Touhou is harder" thread link? If it really exists

This is the best thread in the history of shumps chat.

My only regret is that I waited so long to look at it.

Could the mods kindly just lock moron-speak topics like this? Leaving it open sets a dangerous precedent and is detrimental to the forum's culture. Unless you want every other topic to look like this in the future.

I 101% agree with Friendly.

This thread is a postmodern satire on both Icycalm and insane Shumps Farm topics. We're actually having some fun with video games for once.

In this thread, we see a bunch of newbies who have never seen the typical Forum resposne to an Icycalm encounter (yes, that includes satires).

ROBOTRON hasn't posted in this thread - how could it be the best ever?

Also, wow, that first post is way dumber up close than it looked at first.
