Isn't that a bit of a defeatist attitude to take to a game? I mean, if you play anything with that in mind it'd be a self-fulfilling prophecy, wouldn't it? You might eventually be able to handle it as your skill improves.
No, it's really not a defeatist attitude, it's reality.
I can say that I may be able to clear DOJ or Ketsui at some point.
I'm not skilled enough to handle the patterns in this game, I tried to convince myself.
Played 5 hours straight when I got it, 6 hours straight e following day. Stage 4 boss (who immediately wasted me) was the best I could do. And it was a VERY lucky run.
I'll be the first to admit when I'm terrible at a game - this is one of them.
It's like saying that maybe one day I'll clear Futari Ultra, just not going to happen.
I believe people who play these games reach a peak. Some continue to become amazing at these games, some level off, like me - just above average.
When I'm really enjoying a game, I get into a zone, like I'm sure you have.
Playing Muchi Muchi Pork, Deathsmiles, Akai Katana, Futari BL ECT. takes my mind off of my business and puts me in the game.
It's pretty tough to explain, but certain games have "charm" to me.
I'm not buying these games to be the best, or have the biggest collection. I play them for fun.
SDOJ just isn't fun to me. But that's just my opinion and should'nt sway any of you from taking the opportunity to play it.
But when I'm constantly dying at the end of stage 3, mid stage 4, I'm not having fun.
At least with any other game I own, I can battle the last boss and hopefully clear it.
I've cleared all of my games with the exception of Galuda and Pork - I've gotten very close on both of them.
Plus they are loads of fun.
