Meh, difficulty is overrated. More often than not it just means having less room for stage route variation, and that's it. At least SDOJ's boss/midboss patterns are less about slowly tapping to the side, going into pre-calculated positions, or scrolling danger offscreen, and more about moving all over the place. You can't cheese through them using extreme slowdown or free bullet cancels. What were the most recent games you remember that made you do just that?

I really hope there's some sort of scoring incentive for playing at high rank.
Just imagine what stage 5 Expert would look like on rank 20+.

Are we even sure there's no loop in this game?

If there is a loop, I reckon the requirements are back to being difficult, recalling Ketsui's "no miss, no bomb, 120mil+" and MMP!'s "no miss 1-ALL" requirements.
Perhaps it's:

- No Miss
- Rank 25 or higher
- All bee medals, including stage-end bees at x2.
- Score of 75oku (7.5bil) or higher.

Does Cave reveal the requirements at some point or do the players have to figure it out?

If there's a 2nd loop I may jizz on my screen. Also yeah I agree with moozooh, boss patterns are such that you dodge very differently than in other Cave games. I think it might be a little like Ketsui.

Ketsui and Progear are the only Cave titles I can think of with Organic patterns. These don't resemble Ketsui at all.

Actually this thread is 90% total shit. Go back to page one and start over, it only got better over the last week.

He's scoring on stages 1 & 2, but I think he should have kept all his hypers for the mid boss at stage 3. He can get +5000 hits by cancelling his bullets. That's a bombfest on stage 5.

You've posted that shit a couple of times in this thread already, and you're making the thread even worse.
I'm annoyed because of you posts more than the quality of this thread, which is not bad at all actually.
What is wrong with you? I'm starting to understand paradigm.
So just because mesh control makes a few zero-efforts posts on this inconsequential thread in this inconsequential forum, you want him to kill himself. The internet, ladies and gentlemen.

Mesh may be too busy killing his neurons to type out a coherent answer, so I'll offer my disorganized explanation for why this thread is utterly retarded.

1. I think it's pretty well-established that complaining about a game's difficulty based on sparse evidence from players whose skill level is unknown to us is kind of an irrational thing to do. From the 2 or 3 runs I have seen, Expert will require some pretty twitch high-speed dodging and serious planning.

2. Yeah, Japanese superplayers might be able to clear Expert in a few weeks, but keep in mind that 1ccs are secondary to scoring, and considering that this is a CAVE title, I doubt that high-level players will be able to max out the score or get a KANSUTO~~ in a matter of months.

3. I am personally devoting my shmup cortex to Ketsui Arrange and careful analysis of all the SDOJ videos that are out. Let's just try to figure out what we can about game mechanics and stop fretting and circlejerking.

P.S. the pseudo-brostep battle theme is actually amazing in a sort of cheesy way.
P.P.S. I think all of us should be glad that we're even getting a new game from CAVE in this day and age.

I don't understand the term "Organic" when used to describe bullet patterns.

I like what I've seen so far and hope for either a region free or PAL release in the near future.

Also, I don't spot any DFK-lasers. God I hate those things, so this is a day 1 for me if it ever gets ported. Pretty crazy that some have 1cc'ed the game after only 2 days.

Entire quality of forum discussion went downhill with the advent of Futari noobs. Oh yeah, I went there. No regrets, bring it on mothershmuppers. 8)

I thought the same, but not really surprised with how much time they've prolly stuck into similar games. Looks really tough to 1CC still, unless if you end up with a lot of ships for the last stage.

But based on the vids the game doesn't contain a single instance of bullets that change speed or trajectory. :?:
(unless you count the "bomb" thingies the stage 3 boss fires)

Edit: Except I guess you didn't say this game had patterns like that. My bad.
