An A-L video where the player gets his first extend by the stage 2. It's a high scoring run, he keeps all his hypers to get 11,000+ hits on stage 2.

Is it the palette? Can't say I've seen casinos or hotels overgrown with trees often. I think I see some swimming pools in there too.

There's so much repetition in it. Really boring.

Because highly skilled embedded systems programmers won't agree to a salary a uni graduate would ask for, doing the same job. The difference in expertise will not be cost-effective, and when you're a small department that has to make profit, you kinda want to be cost-effective. It was hard to notice the repetition over all the bullets, enemies, and explosions in the videos.

And now I'm wanting to see similar images for ESP Ra.De, DOJ, Futari, and maybe Espgaluda for comparison.

Those environments are really repetitive in a few places but I can't say I've ever really noticed it when playing.

Another one I've noticed is DFK stage 4, if you beat the midboss incredibly quickly there's about 5 seconds before any enemies spawn when you're flying through the air and the sky is all upside down and twisting around and stuff.

It's really trippy.

I think the point is, you only really notice background repetition when you've got time to look for it while spectating a run. I can't say I notice that stuff when I'm playing.

If the track order do matches with DOJ's, the TLB theme would be Tenshi/Angel.
Hmm ...

Nothing says "getting rid of old stock" like a lucky dip bag for 30,000 yen...

On-topic: I skimmed through Asada's blog and didn't see any mention of Mushi HD being the final port for 360. Does anyone know if this is set in stone? Otherwise Saidaioujou is pretty likely.

It's not available to purchase yet. It's just a listing for their little online matsuri gag they pull every other season.

Isn't the release date the 25 of this month?

About the soundtrack

This is the first time I get to listen the music with a proper quality and it still doesn't convince me. It lacks the same overbearing feeling of the old DOJ and it's somewhat "silly" for a Donpachi game... not that they haven't made the game very silly with all the characters and moe-moe-kyuun.

The music seems that has been designed to be heared as standalone music. Why it's like that? Wether it's an idea from Cave or from Namiki, I think that yeah... they have made the right comercial choice but us gamers won't connect with the same passion the music and game's experiences as with the Futari or ESPGaluda II soundtracks.

About the HD port, they better release SDOJ for XBOX 360 since consoles seem to be discredited after the WII-U problem with the procesing power.

And another time on topic: It's interesting to note how Namiki likes to put BGM with a very sharp rythim on stage 3 on some of cave's soundtrack. Best BGM for me until now is stage 3 cause I like that when playing... it gives an strong sense of order and control when playing, at least for me.

It's a lucky dip, so of course it doesn't say, it just says there's 80,000 yen worth and lists Guwange, DOJ, DFK, Deathsmiles, Futari, Galudas and Akai Katana. It's probably just stuff that they've sold before like soundtracks, dakimakura, toresetsu, tshirts, and B2 posters.
O. Van Bruce wrote:Isn't the release date the 25 of this month?
Not exactly. It's available to preorder from the shop from that time, for a limited time. Looks like it's exclusive to the caveshop (unsurprising).

Here is the blog post in question, I believe. I can only go by Cave-STG's summary of it, but it seems possible but not set in stone that Mushihimesama HD will be the last 360 port. Asada again hinted at moving away from the 360 (oddly) in a Famitsu Xbox 360 article, as reported here.

I think that an SDOJ port is more than likely, but its platform is unclear at this point. I just hope that I won't have to use a touchscreen to play it.

Blew my mind but apparently they've already made them for DFK and Death Smiles, so some for SDOJ seems a given. Now I know why I always felt suspicious about games suddenly pushing characters where there were none, easy money.

Aha! So that trick has already found intentional use. I guess we can expect that all midbosses (and probably bosses/parts thereof) will be abused the same way in high scoring runs.

Also, can anybody tell if it's large medals that make the "+XXX pts" messages turn gold instead of the usual blue?

To be honest, porting it to anything other than the 360 and phones seems very suicidal to me. Their buyers and supporters are all concentrated there.

EDIT:
Does bullet speed still increase during Hyper ? I'm not sure if I'm seeing it in this game.
Is it possible that the loop condition is no Autobomb ?

Not at all. In fact it complements perfectly with the bass to make 4/4 compasses perfectly clear, I personally love that rythim :) . It's also a very marked beat that helps to stay focused on the work of timing the hypers the way moozooh described since you can consciously or unconsciously know in which part of the stage you are.

That player just used a hyper for no obvious reason at the beginning of stage 2, and it ended right when the midboss exploded. It's like he knew when he has to use it to time it correctly...
And yeah, he got hyper lv3 from the boss thanks to that.
Not. Nice.
Really hope that isn't the main trick to getting big scores. Fucking hated that shit in Deathsmiles.

I think people may be getting a little carried away with the talk of this being a hard game. It's tough, but not that tough. Over the weekend I witnessed a handful of clears and came fairly close myself, and this is after just a couple of days (with no practice modes or save states to speed along learning the game). It's just that it's not a pushover to cheese a clear like with many of Cave's recent titles. Expert isn't harder than the Mushi Ultra modes and is far from DOJ White Label's loop.

Seems so, since the way to skyrocket your hit count is with constant high level hypers.
