Just encountered a pretty awesome bug.
The popcorn planes after the 5th stage midboss kept coming and never stopped... until the dropdown part.
Dunno what caused it but killed midboss at max rank.

There's a bug where if you kill the stage 2 midboss too fast, then the stage will keep on looping with the zako tanks and planes forever.

There are a lot more ROMs changed, but you could probably get away with just replacing the code ROMs (u26 and u27). Thanks for the cool link & d/l, trap15. It'll be interesting to try out DDP-Arrange on a real DDP PCB setup. At least, this is better than waiting/hoping that Cave'll release their much desired DDP Campaign Version PCB eproms. Yeah, a few enemies behaved like that before as well (and I fixed them). I didn't notice any other enemies doing such things though, so I didn't look into it too hard. It has to do with the way I modified the rank; some numbers now underflow and go to ridiculous values like 65535 instead of stuff like 0 or 1, so that's most likely the issue. If the rest of these apparent bugs pan out, I'll probably fix those in a 1.1 release.Cagar wrote:Also another glitch:

So yeah this is a pretty fun arrange mode.
It’s not especially difficult though. I mean what made Ura hard was that you had to deal with the suicide bullets. When they’re gone it’s just a -slight- step up from normal.
What I found really weird was that some patterns were even easier than on Ura. For example the second form of the stage 2 boss. Faster but way bigger gaps.
The stage 4 midboss also got pretty shafted in this mode. On Ura those sidewalls are basically nonexistent to make the suicide bullet dodging possible. But now it’s easier on max rank than on low.
In it's current form I don’t see any reason why you would want to fight the bosses on high rank. The patterns are harder than Ura on max rank and not worth the risk at all.
I guess you can use it for the stage 2 boss transition empty lock but that’s it.
What struck me was that you can still raise or lower the rank in the period after killing a boss when you can’t shoot. This seems odd to me and I think it would be better if this was removed.
It’s more risk/ reward this way when you actually have to finish the boss off at max rank in order to start the next stage at max rank.
The damage output also kind of breaks the game. Everything dies before it can do anything.
I mean DOOM is seriously broken easy. On the second phase you don’t even have to dodge anything and the final can be killed with a single bomb.
I saw quite a few bugs. Mainly those aforementioned tanks that don’t shoot in the right direction, they are all over the place.
