My point with the original pic wasnt about the filtering, it was about how bland the texture of the super boss is. I was worried that the bosses would look the same

Its like pulling a chick only to find out she has hairy legs when you get her to the bedroom. its enough to give anyone a soft dick.

Looks like Play-Asia is going to have preorder for the LE soon, they already have preorders for the SE up. So far the price for the SE is $89.49, no mention of a price for the LE yet.

OVER NINETY DOLLARS?! For a slight variation on a game I already own? Fuck that.
So, are we expected to turn our TV on its side?!

The prices make you want to cry don't they?..... and that's the regular edition! The LE is going to feel like paying for 5 swift kicks in the groin

It is quite amusing how excited everyone gets over a nine year old game anyway. We should be demanding something new ffs.

Oh come on, many of us have always wanted a better port of this, plus when 1.5 pcb released (their newest game, sorta) we were crying and losing sleep over not being able to play it... At least, I was!

I own most Cave boards including this Matsuri 1.5 and I can tell you in my opinion it's one of their best ever and not a slight variation. I almost went insane getting the Maniac Max 1CC. I don't think I would enjoy paying $100 for any disc and if you aren't getting the version with 1.5 included then I wouldn't bother all things considered, but honestly Matsuri 1.5 is one of the funnest games just ever (the Max modes). Straight up exhilarating. I don't know why they are releasing it this way with the better version as a bonus instead of the other way around but it is what it is.

Several words: That isn't going to stop most of us from enjoying the game any more or less than we would if that one pic didn't surface.

I wasn't into shmups when Mushihimesama was ported to the PS2, and because of the reviews reporting (and showing) how bad the port was I've never purchased it. The PCB plus the cost of a supergun is out of my reach. This port is going to be my first time playing Mushihimesama, and so this is new content for me, I can understand why others aren't too thrilled with this but this is the only chance for us to have a decent port of this game.

just to clarify this: i have the PS2 port and it is very good! yes it has it flaws but gameplay-wise it is completely fine. And yes i am pumped about the HD release too but ppl should stop talking shit about the PS2 port. it may be blurry and all but it's okay.

If the counter stop is in the port it will be interesting to see how many people on this forum manage it.

I agree it's weird that 1.5 isn't the main mode, as what we are basically getting is an upgrade of the PS2 port - not that I'm complaining at all. Mushi is in my top 3 Cave games so I'd buy any version that's released.

LOL, doubt it. The real question is....has he even played it? The people who haven't played it seem to be making a much bigger deal of this than the ones who have.

I love the pretty open hostility towards people who actually want to get good at these games.

Edit: Mars Matrix has an early counterstop and plenty of people here have done that. DFK 1.0 had an early counterstop and many people in the 1.5 board would have already done that. What's up with this "it's impossible to get good scores" attitude?

In the long run all of this CAVE DLC is going to get lost due to broken systems, and the eventual lack of support. All we can count on is our actual physical game discs, and we're getting sold half product. It's bullshit.
Great post. Couldn't agree more. Not to mention that I can't be bothered time-wise to deal with a download-- especially if it requires a JP account.

In most cases the preorder modes are actually on the disc, and what you're downloading is an unlock code. I think it was bcass who has gone great lengths detailing how easy it will be to circumvent these hurdles by the time the support is gone (no XBL access means no risk). MAME users have been doing essentially the same thing for years.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Gus did play it in Japan. You made me fucking post in this thread just because of that. What the fuck.

Now that I'm here, I think I'll pull a DTP and just say that I don't give a fuck about Mushi and think it's a shit game. I probably won't be buying this. Some parts of this game are so amazing (stages 3&4, notably), and the rest of it is nauseating shit, including mechanics/scoring. Have fun with it, though. (I'm serious.)

The reason is quite simple, the pre-order bonus is being used as an incentive to make consumers pay for new editions of the game over buying used copies. Have the actual bonus on the disc and after that first print run you've actually created a disincentive for buying the game new. Cave isn't mistaken here, putting the highly desirable 1.5 mode as a limited time bonus is going to drive up sales of the initial print run.

I think someone said this before, Cave should just PUT 1.5 on the first print of the discs instead of making us download it.

I'm pretty sure 1.5 is on the disc you just need the code to unlock it ;)

Well if it's the same as Futari BL, why would I have to download that much stuff if it was simply to unlock it?
