what i meant by "region free" was that i hope it gets releases for other regions, my mistake, im still getting used to the language!Deca wrote:I'm not sure how you managed to read enough of the thread to get that Matsuri is first print bonus but not catch that it's Japan only. If you want low survival difficulty, it's still there, at least until the TLB. If you want low survival AND scoring difficulty, there's Novice. If you're looking for a sense of accomplishment that happens without the accomplishment (at least one that takes effort), it doesn't work that way.TrevHead (TVR) wrote:Thats a shame as ild be more likely to want to play this mode for score due to the lowered survival difficulty. Mushi arrange dont look like thats possible, Its not so much point blanking but a how close dare you get to the bullets

Haven't been keeping up with all of this, but I thought at first this was going to be a download-only title. So now we have evidence otherwise? That's excellent.

1.5 as a preorder bonus is such a dumb idea. i could see the dlc card selling for money than the actual game down the road. hopefully when rsg ports it they'll make 1.5 into normal paid dlc.

Yeah, pretty shitty imo. It's the main draw of the package. I prefer when Cave's DLC is stupid voice packs.brokenhalo wrote:1.5 as a preorder bonus is such a dumb idea. i could see the dlc card selling for money than the actual game down the road. hopefully when rsg ports it they'll make 1.5 into normal paid dlc.
If it has the possibility to affect me negatively even as an early adopter, I'm totally against it.

I'm fairly sure none of this DLC business has been confirmed yet and we've been told it was Japanese only for a while now, so why is everyone shit posting about preorder DLC or region locking?

Google Translate to the rescue!
Says that it's listing 'compatible models' as simply Xbox 360; does this mean it's region-free and all Xboxes work with it? MUST KNOW.

Site explicitly says that Mushime-Sama 1.5 DLC card is only for the first print run.
EDIT: Is Matsuri really that great anyway?

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
As someone who has not yet played Matsuri/1.5, I can assure you that yes, it is indeed That great!
Main reason being that most of us have played to death the original game, and want a more interesting and difficult mode to get slaughtered with. It offers a lot more invited changes than many of the extra modes in other games. DFK1.51 was meh, Pork Matsuri is cool with extra bosses, but Mushi 1.5 totally redefines the game with its "full power" weapon select.
I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
At least for survival it is better, since there are effectively six modes instead of three. It's probably better for score as well, since vanilla Mushi's scoring system is awkward and obtuse (Maniac, Ultra), or just plain dumb (Original).J_Taishu wrote:Is Matsuri really that great anyway?
I assume the port will let you define the music for each stage like in most recent Cave ports, because frankly I don't really dig 1.5's soundtrack.

Because it got lost two pages back...
Honest question.StarCreator wrote:Is 1.5 really considered a "Matsuri" version? I was under the impression it was a public release, albeit with a somewhat strange distribution model. The versions we typically regard as "Matsuri" were never available for sale at all until they showed up in the 360 ports.
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
It's not what "we" regard as Matsuri, it's what Cave does. 1.5 is at the same time a Matsuri version (or it's a Matsuri version that's also 1.5), even though it's closer to a typical Black Label.
Meh, don't try to understand Cave's naming scheme, they're evidently confused themselves.

I always thought blue label was supposed CAVE's naming scheme for Matsuri versions, obviously this isnt the case heremoozooh wrote:It's not what "we" regard as Matsuri, it's what Cave does. 1.5 is at the same time a Matsuri version (or it's a Matsuri version that's also 1.5), even though it's closer to a typical Black Label.

Ugh, really? Even though the title screen of the actual game doesn't say that...虫姫さま ケイブ祭りver.1.5
Thanks for the heads up.
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
From what I played of Maniac it didn't seem all that different from what I heard about original Mushi scoring but it was still fun for survival. Depending on whether or not they fix that counterstop bug Original Max at the very least is worth being played seriously.moozooh wrote:At least for survival it is better, since there are effectively six modes instead of three. Do Cave's LE game cases typically match the box art? I've only ever bought their SE games because I think the covers look way better, but this LE looks fantastic in comparison. If the inside case looks the same as the SE case, I won't bother.
(By which I mean the 360 case within the outer box)

Inner case of an LE always matches the outside, so easily told apart from a regular even when separated from the outer case.Special World wrote:Do Cave's LE game cases typically match the box art? The SE cover for Mushi HD has got to be among the worst covers Cave has put out this generation.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
Yeah I see your point, if Mushi comes to PAL ill give this mode a try and see how it is. Novice modes tend to be a tad too easy for my liking, In a perfect world ild spend a few days 1CCing and then move onto playing for score. With the normal modes most of my time is spent trying for the 1CC and by the time I do (or if I do) my intrest is already moving onto another game.moozooh wrote:If you want low survival difficulty, it's still there, at least until the TLB. I was hoping Deathsmiles would have the right ballance of difficulty but im not too keen on its score system or suicide bullets. Ive just started playing DFK which seems to be just my bag. OFC I could just L2P so I need less effort to 1CC the normal modes but im just having fun with shmups atm
BTW Ive just looked at those new screen shots and even though theyre small I can make out the detail in the bosses so....

Hmmm I wonder why that other pic looked so bland? Did that stage 3 super boss look like that in the originals?
Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
I like the SE cover far more but am contemplating ordering a LE just to make sure I get 1.5.
If that's the case do I have any takers who would want to trade for a LE case and cover for their SE case and cover?

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
so what exactly is in the LE?
I'm really not a fan of this first print exclusive DLC. Why not just stick the modes on the actual first print discs?
In the long run all of this CAVE DLC is going to get lost due to broken systems, and the eventual lack of support. All we can count on is our actual physical game discs, and we're getting sold half product. It's bullshit.

Re: Mushihimesama HD (360)
Is it me or do the new screens released today look...well, completely beautiful and normal (ie similar to the HD versions of DS, Mushihimesama, ESPG2, etc), unlike the previous images? They're a little small but so far it looks awesome and I'm wondering if someone released an incorrect batch of images the first time around, something that was early Alpha or maybe a photoshopped mock up like MS did with Amped or whatever....

The new pics look exactly the same, but since they are downscaled and blurry this time, they are cool
