Re: Street fighter x Tekken
I doubt they'd make projectiles that big a deal in the new game...maybe they'll give all the tekken kids the ability to dodge into the background like dhalsim kinda does with his leg stretch....Except they'd probably let Bryan eat the fireballs to regain health because he's an effing BA.

The panda better be in the game!

The Tekken characters will deal with projectiles the same way most SF characters already do. Jump over them if unsafe, focus them, dash under if possible, or just bulldog.

I hope to god they don't put out another fighter with Focus...if capcom does decide to reuse a funky gimmick then bring back SFIII's parries please.mannerbot wrote:The Tekken characters will deal with projectiles the same way most SF characters already do. Parries with online play? If you think that's a good idea I'm not sure you've ever played a Capcom fighter online!

Re: Street fighter x Tekken
dear capcom,
please stop making fighting games. ssf4 is boring, mvc3 is confirmed to be ass, tvc is the laughingstock of the world, and i would rather watch umk3 matches than any more ssf4. pandas and yakuza will not make your boring game any more fun. thank you!
oh well, at least the arcana heart 3 port is coming out
Anyway, if you're trying design a fighting game engine around laggy online play instead of trying to build a netplay engine that doesn't lag, you're doing things wrong. The developers will create CvS2 EO or BBCS beginner mode instead, say, Third Strike or whatever.

Maybe they'll actually take the game in a brand new direction...like Street Fighter x Tekken Fit for the wii..with meditative/stretching exercises with Yoshimitsu and Dhalsim...and punching bag minigames with Boxer and Steve.
I can definitely see myself more inclined to purchase that.
Re: Street fighter x Tekken
GGPO's good but not perfect, and I should have clarified that I meant games with Capcom netcode. You probably knew that though. :pAraraSPAMWitch wrote:lol third strike ggpo lolmannerbot wrote:Parries with online play? Agreed, Cave should bring them out on floppies.neorichieb1971 wrote:I don't know why 360 Cave games are on a disc at all, apart from fanboys screaming out for $60 discs.
The first thing they did was have a Tekken character duck through a fireball to show how they are going to deal with them. :xEricDaNerd wrote:I doubt they'd make projectiles that big a deal in the new game...maybe they'll give all the tekken kids the ability to dodge into the background like dhalsim kinda does with his leg stretch....Except they'd probably let Bryan eat the fireballs to regain health because he's an effing BA.

Re: Street fighter x Tekken
I'll be watching this with interest. Been having a lot of fun with SSF4 recently, and I've never put 40+ hours into a fighting game before. I'm sure I'll be wanting to mess around with some new characters by 2012.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Hakan and Rufus are pretty easily the best characters in Street Fighter IV, at least until they add Oro.AraraSPAMWitch wrote:you're just pissed off because your favorite fighting game developer created hakan and rufusStrider77 wrote:total garbageoh well, at least the arcana heart 3 port is coming out

Re: Street fighter x Tekken
I dont know if you figured it out yet, but Namco are making a Tekken X Street fighter as well.
One game is the SFIV universe with Tekken characters, the other one is SFIV characters supposedly in the Tekken universe. Or something.

I'm somewhat more interested in the Namco version. I'm probably the only one.neorichieb1971 wrote:I dont know if you figured it out yet, but Namco are making a Tekken X Street fighter as well.

I don't recall anyone complaining for having to put down another few hundred bucks for the new KOF home cart every year with more or less the same engine and sprites.
Now people want a completely new game to be DLC?

I think they they straddled the line between bizaare weirdos and authentic-feeling normal-but-obsessives. I like (many of) the designs in stuff like Guilty Gear, Super Muscle Bombers, Dark Stalkers, Battle Monsters, Waku Waku etc. but they can sometimes feel like they're trying too hard whereas in SFIII it feels effortless and natural. The freaks are given their own little observational mannerisms that grounds them. Especially Oro.
Wait, you weren't being sarcastic, were you?

Re: Street fighter x Tekken
Some Mega Man fans are peeved by this, but I think it's a hoot - maybe it's just because I enjoy oddball characters that make tournament-level players start spouting curses as soon as their names come up ("whut kinda scrubfags main dat sheeyit?"), but I still changed my pre-order from the 360 version to PS3.

He's console exclusive, so your chances of seeing him in any serious tournaments are pretty much zero.
Re: Street fighter x Tekken
Now what would have made this even more AMAZING, if they named him Bad Overweight Middeaged Cosplayer Mega Man.undamned wrote:Bad Box Art MM
Or maybe they're saving that for Bad Overweight Middleaged Five-o'clock-shadow Cosplayer Morrigan.

He is exclusive to the PS3/Vita & Evo is dumb so every game is on the PS3. Unless they change that sometime soon.
lol
Re: Street fighter x Tekken
If I recall, they banned the Star Wars characters from Soul Calibur because they were exclusive to each console ..

Re: Street fighter x Tekken
Namco did release the two exclusives as DLC for the other platform for 5 bucks, though, so it was more a case of those characters being really out of this world than availability. There are other tournaments than Evo though
