Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
If you have trouble clearing, you most likely have never even seen the high counter values that make the game hard.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
I only play black label these days but it works with 1.5 as well I believe.

I have because I bumped them up to max in practice and ran stage 5 several times.Erppo wrote:If you have trouble clearing, you most likely have never even seen the high counter values that make the game hard.
To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
Obviously I meant in a real run. The rank maxes at 100k in the overall counter and achieving that takes some active effort of hovering on top of things. I have made it to Larsa without dying or bombing and still had less than 100k in the counter.
1.5 Original has some rank tied in to the counter too, but compared to BL, it's really minor. Same thing here, if you have trouble clearing, the counter will surely never rise to troublesome values.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
The thing about the rank maxing out at 100k is actually a myth. Yeah, that's where it skyrockets and you start getting the big points but it still keeps going at a steady pace even after that. Just try going into training mode and doing Stage 5 with 100k then 150k and there's a clear difference.Erppo wrote:Obviously I meant in a real run. Can anyone think of any way to make practicing the stages any more fun? It's such a grind-fest just playing them in practice mode especially when you aren't really getting anywhere.
Doing runs break things up a bit but they are almost completely pointless because I can't get anywhere near my highscore and just die on stage 3 now.

Anyone else got any ideas or ways to make it seem less monotonous?
I tried using different characters and that makes it slightly less boring but I don't think it really helps progress much.

Just practice sections your not good at. If you aren't prepared to practice to 1cc why play it at all?

Well, its all of 3, 4 and 5 really.AntiFritz wrote:Just practice sections your not good at. If you aren't prepared to practice to 1cc why play it at all?
I'm willing to practice, it's just that I've played the levels thousands of times already and it's getting a little stale, especially in the light of making very little progress towards beating them consistently.

Must have just run stage 3 about 15 times. Number of completions in 3 lives....... 1
It's simply not possible to avoid that much shit with any consistency. Even if there's no specific sections that give you any trouble you'll still accidentally dodge into something or misjudge a trajectory and lose your lives somehow.
I wonder what the record is for most amount of time played without getting a 1cc? I've got to be pretty close to it, if not having already surpassed it some time ago.

Just in case anyone is wondering; it doesn't work.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
I'm not the best at shmups, futari doesn't even run full speed (mame) on my pc so I rarely get to play on another (better) pc. I would probably have played 5 -10 hours max of black label original and ive been to stage 5 once or twice. It is not THAT hard.

I'm not trolling. I'm trying to get advice on a very difficult game that has managed to cause a great amount of frustration as must be evident. It is also not helped by people saying how apparently easy it is.Vamos wrote:Its a great troll i got to admit , why are people still feeding it?
Thanks, I'll try that next time I boot it up.Bananamatic wrote:get good
Nothing is forcing me to run into them, but there is only a certain amount of motor control that someone can be expected to demonstrate and only a certain amount of things they can watch and react to at once.Erppo wrote:Well how about not doing that then? Yes you are right. A quick review of that thread will show that it was locked because you got involved in hair pulling and handbags with someone else. I believe the same fate befell the last thread you two decided to do that in as well.Skykid wrote:The Daifukkatsu meh thread got a well deserved lock, so it moved back home.Vamos wrote:Its a great troll i got to admit , why are people still feeding it?
Is there a pattern emerging there?

Yes, we're secretly in collusion to lock as many threads as possible, we spent the evening laughing our asses off via PM. This thread's next.DrTrouserPlank wrote:Yes you are right. Before that happens, Dr. Gregory House M.D. has some words for you:

I know it's a bit off topic here, but does anyone know how uploading replays is handled in Daifukkatsu? I want to see how DTP plays, and every time I play score attack it takes forever to upload and does it in 4 parts, but I can only find 6 replays attached to anyone on the leaderboard. Is it the same as Futari, where your score has to have been in the top 20 at some point for a replay to be uploaded, or am I missing an option somewhere?
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
I bet you were falling over a lot when you were learning to walk, yet now you can (probably) do that pretty consistenly. If not, that explains a lot too. Anyway, that's called learning and you should do that.DrTrouserPlank wrote:Nothing is forcing me to run into them, but there is only a certain amount of motor control that someone can be expected to demonstrate and only a certain amount of things they can watch and react to at once.
I think that the game gives you a choice to upload it if you get into the top 10 in any board. This includes the monthly boards and individual ship ones. Sometimes you can only download the replays when switching to those.Annoyboy wrote:I know it's a bit off topic here, but does anyone know how uploading replays is handled in Daifukkatsu?

I like to listen to music while I play. It helps stop the games from feeling too repetitive, especially when you're practicing the same stage/boss over and over. Maybe that's just me though.DrTrouserPlank wrote:Anyone else got any ideas or ways to make it seem less monotonous?

Forces you to develop muscle memory because you're attention is being split from the game and you need to compensate. Also there's only so many times you can hear Larsa scream at Reco before it just gets annoying.
Edit: Also, fuck Larsa's retarded laugh.
