True, someone at the Company was anticipating something-I've seen that line. Another indication that they were is that message from Mother about retrieving a species-they must have had some info to justify re-routing the Nostromo. And, IMO, the ending of AVP:R suggests that perhaps the Predator's gun was used to develop weapons for the Colonial Marines. The re-routing of the Nostromo is actually how I picture this prequel ending.Mortificator wrote:A cobbled-together family unit goes on more craaazy alien-fighting adventures! A lot of fans of the second movie would probably like to see something like that, but I think it would turn out pretty lame no matter how it was executed. Alien3 was downbeat, but I don't hate the direction it took.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:There was one Alien 3 script where it was suppose to continue the further adventures of Lt. There's a coughing-in-the-first-act line in Alien where Dallas says that the ship's regular science officer was replaced by Ash at the last minute, suggesting somebody at the Company was anticipating some weird shit. The line wasn't in the DVD director's cut, though.dave4shmups wrote:The only contact they seemed to have had was with another alien race-remember the alien pilot of that ship in the first movie? Perhaps they'll tell his/her story.
That would be stupid, yeah, but even AVP-R remembered to make the Predator-spawned alien different, so I wouldn't worry yet.E. Resurrection just didn't do it for me, the acting was fine, but it was pretty hard to care about whether or not Ripley died when she had such divided loyalties. Plus, they took away the Company, which took away a lot of the conspiracy-certainly there was a new military conspiracy, but it wasn't anywhere near as well developed.
