But this time it's a shooter. Not only that, it's a multidirectional shooter made with voxels. It looks really nice in motion.

Buy it.
Yeah, you gotta get in at the beginning, be a dick and spend only 1c.Stormwatch wrote:Two games added: The Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter. But you have to pay more than the average ($4.30 right now) to get them.
Isaac would be a good game if it didn't run like absolute shit. And was difficult.Udderdude wrote:Voxeltron looks kind of neat. Can't say the same for the other two games (poop colored Zelda ripoff and .. generic block pushing puzzle game?)

you're right. and curmudgeon is a great word.njiska wrote:Elixir is a bitter, unlikable curmudgeon; Rancor is a nice guy, with a store that may be a bit overpriced; and none of this fucking matters because this thread is about the god damn Humble Voxatron Bundle. Frankly I think doing humble payment plans for titles still in development is a brilliant idea. It allows the developer a chance to whip up some quick cash that's needed to keep the project going, while the contributors get an early taste of the finished project and maybe even a few special bonuses. It's the same strategy as Minecraft employed, only with a significantly lower price of entry. You have to remember that a lot of indie dev's just don't have the resources to focus 100% of their time on a project like this, so whatever help they can get is always appreciated. It's nice to see fellow developers kicked in support with Blocks That Matter and The Binding of Isaac. Both are solid and popular indie titles that will increase demand and help raise even more cash for the project.
As for Voxtron itself, I've played the Alpha and honestly it needs a lot of work. The controls don't feel quite right and there are a number of options like button mapping that are absent, but given enough time I think it could be really fun. The voxel shooting effect is nice and it's really cool to see the world come apart. The style may already have been done by 3D Dot Game Heroes, but that's no reason to hold it against it.
Certainly worth giving this bundle a chance. Even if you don't like Voxatron, the Binding of Isaac is surprisingly fun.
Might wanna try it now post-Halloween update. My copy didn't even work until yesterday (you can see me bitching up and down the steam forums about it). 640X480 fullscreen runs just fine now. If you've bought the bundle you can play it without installation or steam, which is nice.Drum wrote:Isaac would be a good game if it didn't run like absolute shit. And was difficult.
I didn't derail this thread, you condescending shitheel. Everyone else did. I had a negative opinion on the matter, yes, but I didn't derail anything. It's also pretty obvious you Google dived for information on this matter to make up for the lack of worth the former of your post had.njiska wrote:Elixir is a bitter, unlikable curmudgeon; Rancor is a nice guy, with a store that may be a bit overpriced; and none of this fucking matters because this thread is about the god damn Humble Voxatron Bundle. What kind of issues have you guys been having? I've been running it on a couple of machines and haven't had any real issues, aside from some brief audio stuttering in the title menu. I've also not been running it in fullscreen mode.Moniker wrote:Might wanna try it now post-Halloween update. For the brief period in which it worked at launch, I would get moderate-to-major slowdown whenever there were multiple projectiles/more than 3 or so enemies onscreen. Even just tears splatting on the wall would produce some slowdown. Apparently people all across the PC power spectrum were experiencing this. Possibly this was fixed in the patch that completely broke the game on my machine (game sound would load, but the game itself wouldn't launch). Everything's hunky dory now, although I get minor slowdown with a lot of objects if not at 640FS.njiska wrote:What kind of issues have you guys been having?
