But, well, seriously : it's all about practicing really so even on a hard game it may be possible to find and show easy ways to go through. I've done a vid' for Under Defeat (#17, down the page), in French so far*, and it's not really a sissy game IMO.
But it's not what I want to achieve : the goal is mainly to show that MANY shmups can be cleared easily, to make newcomers discover/try/clear games. Because actually, I 've found out that many shmup players just buy games but don't ever go through stage 3 'cause they don't really play these games, they don't practice or don't really know how the games work. (i.e : knowing exactly how the rank evolve in Futari BL Original does make things quite easy !)

So if you wanna play seriously the DOJ for instance, you don't need this kind of vid' : you're not a sissy/newcomer/bad player when you think you can clear such a hard one and my 1-sissy are not intended to reach you if your name is EOJ or Icarus ! (among many other great players !)

But by the way, I'm thinking these days of "upper class" video, showing 1cc of harder game (I'm thinking Futari BL GOD Mode right now...) for normal players. Nothing done yet, but I'll see on that. (I'm losing my skill** always playing 1-sissy !)

Border Down is not that difficult for a 1-CC. You really need to trigger the 6-A stage, though. I wonder whether you guys have good hori skills, though. If not, I can see your concerns.

A Futari God mode one would be awesome. More people really need to see that the game is actually very accessible and can be a lot of fun once you know what you're doing. It also has the best final boss ever.

And no, a DOJ 1-ALL is not easier. I'm lucky if I can reach stage 4 in that while I've reached God mode Larsa MANY times and 1cced it several times as well. And this was with doing every scoring trick I can as the game is a straight-up joke if all you care about is the 1cc.

Border Down is quite easy, for an hori. I think that unless you lack experience with this sub-genre altogether, with 2-3 weeks of dedicated playing, you should easily 1-sissy the 6-A route, given the good skills you display in the videos. The other routes could be 1-bro clears, they're definitely harder

Must be : on Shmupem'All, I've written a long article about Triangle Service (I just LOVE -hum... well, lovED- that small company !) and their games, so I incorporated some vids of Exzeal indeed. Everything's here. I'd the luck to discuss a little, via emails, with Toshiyaki Fujino, the boss of Triangle Service, told me he was to release a new shmup in 2010, but nothing came from it... (told me also he should have released Shooting love 200x Region Free, but at that time he was still hoping to find western editors)
Really a shame such good craftmen can't go on doing good games !

(Fujino also told he wanted to release Shooting Love on Wii and probably DS, but BigN refused it)

I'm late to this party, but I've watched half of the Mushi one. I think it's good to show a replay where the screen isn't 99% purple and makes the games look accessible, but also clarifies you're playing on the easiest mode to ward off the "go play Flandre on lunatic mode" comments from futa doujinshi fans.

However, it'd be nice if you explained concepts like streaming or what enemies bullet cancelled. I think it ends up a higher level video than what your pitching at. :3

It is. It shows a full level 1 1cc. (which is nothing to boast about !)

I think streaming is where you move from one side to the other fast enough so aimed shots just miss you but slow enough that you don't run out of room to move.

I'd buy another Wii for myself on the strength of a few shoot-'em-ups from Triangle. I was pissed off when I saw Shooting Love 200X warn't region-freedom because it meant I had to buy a J360 or A360. Still, once I imported the console, I bought the game and played it a lot (probably the most of all the games I have). Nowadays, I'm playing the Trizeal Remix, but the whole game package rocked my face off. Great music

Weird. I wouldn't know. I mainly play using the 3rd ship since it doesn't require "shaking" and special shots - it's the simplest ship. I also like the sound FX for the shots. I think the downside is that I can't seem to rack up a huge amount of points or aim those asteroids on Level 5 to hit targets.

Anyway, I don't save gameplays since I have a crappy 4GB console...
