As far as I know, that kind of thing only happens in Black Label Original, where you'll want to be pointblanking enemies the entire time. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary while playing.Sumez wrote:That's how I thought it was as well, but skimming the ST thread on this forum says something about more green gems spawning when you point blank the enemies as well as the obvious advantage in staying close to the enemy when it dies. So which is the truth?Sapz wrote: You collect a gem as it's green by collecting the gem within a certain time of it spawning - I don't have any exact numbers but I'd say something like 40-60 frames. How close you were to the enemy isn't the important thing here, but of course it'll help since you're so close to the gems to start with and can collect them quickly.

If you're playing for survival, going for your very first 1CC of Original mode (and I assume he's playing Black Label), you should be able to squeeze out the second extend before you reach Larsa even if you don't know anything about how to score. I frequently did before I even knew why the counter changed colour. Taking that into consideration, if you're trying to get a high score throughout the run, the rank will skyrocket and stage 5 will end up much more difficult than it would have been otherwise (much faster bullets). If all you want to do is beat the game on 1 credit, why make it harder for yourself by pushing the score beyond the second extend? This is why I'd advise less skilled players not to worry too much about scoring. It's frustrating to get to the last stage with an amazing score and then lose the entire credit before you're even halfway through it.Sumez wrote:I don't see any reason NOT to play for score in Original when going for 1CC - isn't it just switching shots every 500 points and staying close to the enemies you shoot? :P
DrTrouserPlank, if Larsa is giving you that much trouble, why not use Training to practise that boss and work out a strategy? If you just bomb the fuck out of her you shouldn't need more than 3 lives, and with a little training I'm sure you could figure out which parts of her patterns you can cope with and work out a way to stretch your time spent chipping away her health between bombs.

I've spent hours trying to find a way to beat it in training and there's no way to do it consistently and on few enough lives. The whole thing has gotten well past the point where any more practice is going to make a real difference.Annoyboy wrote:DrTrouserPlank, if Larsa is giving you that much trouble, why not use Training to practise that boss and work out a strategy? I think it's without doubt the most unfair game I've ever played, and to spend more time on it would be an utter waste.
I've taken it as far as it can be taken. I'm done.

Stop now is the best choice. Guess which an achievement is impossible..., I was in this position for several times. Play something else enjoy your j360 and in two months you will all this game in 3rd try.DrTrouserPlank wrote: I've spent hours trying to find a way to beat it in training and there's no way to do it consistently and on few enough lives. Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
I've been playing 1.5 Original today... badly. The difficulty really seems to spike on stage 4, everything just gets super-fast and I lose the feeling that I'm in control of where things are shooting/moving. Black Label is far easier. I'm at a point where I've 1CCd Black Label Original twice with each character, but I'm not sure what I should be doing next. Is 1.5 Original the next logical step up in terms of difficulty, or should I try Black Label Maniac? Or maybe I should just keep practising by playing Black Label Original for score? Any insight on this?

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
1.5 Original is definitely the next step, although BL Maniac is also harder in a different way and should be considered as an alternative. I'd recommend practicing 1.5 Original Stage 4 starting at 30k on the counter or so to get a feel for it and learning how to make the enemies manageable without getting overwhelmed. BL Maniac has harder patterns but less speed and managing the flow of enemies is quite easy due to BL's firepower, so it's something of a different skillset to what 1.5 Original requires.Annoyboy wrote:I've been playing 1.5 Original today... badly. They key for me on Stages 4 & 5 of 1.5 Original is lot's of tap-dodging from one side of the screen to the other. Several bullets in those stages are aimed at you and are actually pretty simple to manipulate. Also, for stage 4, being able to identify the structures and enemies that cancel all on-screen bullets is a massive help to preventing yourself from being overwhelmed.

BL Maniac is definitely worth looking into as an alternative. Less frustrating patterns with no rank and scoring that's more accessible. I think it also prepares for stuff like 1.5 Maniac and BL God a lot better than 1.5 Original.

You need to make the "Futari Infinity Symbol" basically you just do a slow infinity symbol around the screen when you're dealing with the direct firing enemies en masse.drunkninja24 wrote:They key for me on Stages 4 & 5 of 1.5 Original is lot's of tap-dodging from one side of the screen to the other. And I'd recommend Maniac difficulty after Original, as 1.5 Original is waaay inferior to BL Original in my opinion. To clarify an earlier question you do get more gems from point blanking in BL original, and you get a constant stream of them for point blanking towers/other bits of destructable scenery with the right shot type.
TrouserPlank is gone huh? A nation mourns. Give it a month and he'll be bitching about DOJ stage 3 and how TERRIBLY UNFAIR chaining is.

I guesd I'd be a little upset if I dropped a bunch of money on a console to play games that I don't have the comprehension to play. Explains the borderline trolling.

Not too sure how you got that idea.dunpeal2064 wrote:I guesd I'd be a little upset if I dropped a bunch of money on a console to play games that I don't have the comprehension to play. I'm sorry you think you are being trolled but have you given any thought to why you believe that is so? Maybe what I say strikes a nerve because you know there's some truth to it, regardless of how much you'd like to deny it.
I'm not too sure that this is the thread in which I should be offering therapy however. If you like I'd be willing to discuss the matter further in a new thread set up for that purpose.
