Guys like that are trying to earn respect by some really obscure means, even if it's not a fake, he doesn't deserve any sort of respect, cave gets my respect, demul team gets my respect, but a random guy who is just trolling for some unknown reason? that's just plain idiotic, and trolls should be at least something resembling funny.

Yes- but does that mean there's a legit release from Millennium Group somewhere to be found, and it's only memphis who's faking it?Enemy wrote:So the files should not to be password protected from the original release, hmmmm this pissing about really makes me think all of this is FAKE.The Millenium Group Quote in Nfo - We found some Re–Packaged Releases from our Stuff around the Net.To be on the right

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Nope.
Just that the (utterly brilliant) game you mentioned has been around a long time now and is easy to get hold of pretty cheaply.
The alternative is to wait some more for an emulated version that will never be as good as the version that others have been playing a long time.
You pay yer money (or not) and take yer choice (or not)

It's cheap if you already own a Japanese 360 which many people here don't and don't plan to.JOW wrote:Nope.

As far as I'm concerned, waiting a few years after a game's release to play it isn't a bad thing considering that there are plenty of other shmups to keep me occupied in the meantime.
Emulation may never be as good as the original in most cases, but it's still playable nonetheless. After all, most people, with the exception of hardcore audiophiles, are perfectly happy with mp3's even though the quality is far lower. Besides, if someone has never played the original, then how can he or she know the difference?

And it's cheap if you have a PAL 360. I can get almost every title I want (except for the old Mushi and DOJ)Nasirosuchus wrote:It's cheap if you already own a Japanese 360 which many people here don't and don't plan to.

It's region free, so it's cheap if you have any 360.Nasirosuchus wrote:It's cheap if you already own a Japanese 360 which many people here don't and don't plan to.
I've certainly used emulation and will continue to do so (as it's the only option in many cases) but my main gripes with it are input lag and screen tearing when TATEing. Input lag especially causes genuine problems with fighting games, Kick Off 2 and shmups.Nasirosuchus wrote: As far as I'm concerned, waiting a few years after a game's release to play it isn't a bad thing considering that there are plenty of other shmups to keep me occupied in the meantime.

Like I said originally, you pay your money and take your choice - but at £22 it's no brainer IMHO.
I paid around £40 for mine when it first came out and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
Mushi is, but there are others which aren't, and that being said, if you want to play all of the games without emulating, then you're going to have to buy a J360 at some point.JOW wrote: It's region free, so it's cheap if you have any 360.
I own the original and emulated versions of several STGs including but not limited to Donpachi, Dodonpachi, DOJ, Espgaluda, Sexy Parodius, Gunbird, Ikaruga, Axelay, Gradius, Psyvariar, Shienryu, Darius, and R-Type, and stage for stage, ship for ship, enemy for enemy, bullet for bullet, I don't notice any important differences. I'm not saying that they don't exist, but I suppose it just depends on how much it takes to get your goat.JWOW wrote:

The original does provide some things that emulation doesn't such as extra game modes and online leader boards, but emulation also provides some things that aren't available such as better stage practice via save states as well as portability. With an emulator, I can practice any part of the stage I want whether it be a boss, mid-boss, a certain segment, or even a certain bullet pattern. The majority of STGs out there don't offer stage practice at all once you go back earlier than a few years ago. With emulation, I can play the game anywhere I want without having mess with discs whether it be in a different room or on the go via my laptop.

Re: Too close for comfort? the revival?
It looks like the tmg pages are hidden or something (?)
EDIT:
I reasearched TMG a bit and they actually made a lot of keygens/cracks, but in 2001/2002. I can't find more recent releases anywhere, they probably died back then.
It is VERY unlikely for TMG to just reappear after 10 years and leak Demul betas.
This is 99.99999% fake now.
This isn't getting me anywhere though. Does anybody know about those pages? One of the NFOs wrote:
