If MAME skips or slows down at all (even a little) for any reason, fraps or any other screen capture program catches that. Things like mngwrite and aviwrite do not. As I said, mngwrite is working fine now.Bananamatic wrote:fraps is 10x easier to work with and it gives excellent quality

No kidding, I should have known better. I think I would've died against the stage 12 boss but still it's an awful way to game over. can we get an overview of standard scores per level,anyone?
Also I've never had a 1up yet(only reached lvl 4),they come out from special ennemies?

Scoring is an easy process on paper, harder in practicality. For utmost maximum scoring but hard as hell rank, picking up every single powerup, especially the purple P power up when your power and speed are already maxed out, and never bombing or dying would get you the highest score. Using lightning a majority of the time also makes an important impact on score.Aguraki wrote:Is there any scoring tricks?

Standard scores would depend on if you were using a high rank or low rank strategy. There is a fisticuffs looking thing on stage 5 and 12 that releases a 1up when its destroyed, 1ups and 2ups elsewhere are rare and completely random.

This game is fucking mean. I keep trying to be patient and let it come to me, but I'm getting fed up. It would help if save states were working.
