combofiend vs fanatic was one of the best matches for me. combofiends spencer does some crazy stuff. I hope they will archive evo2011 on ustream as I missed ssf4:ae and mvc3 finals

The AE grand final match wasn't too great, but pretty much everything else in the top 8 was excellent. Lots of hype.

Noah (the 8 year old kid) making it as far as he did is kinda mind-blowing. I'm not taking anything away from him, but his entire strategy was Hulk standing H. I honestly can't believe that it took so long for someone to figure that out.
PR Rog gets my respect for holding out as long as he did.

And yes, Noah had a simple strategy but man could he destroy his opponents once he got going.

I was rooting for the Mileena user in MK, shame the Kung Lao user won in the end.

As for SSFIV AE, I think even though Latif ended up losing, he still made a name for himself by taking out 3 big contenders. That and no Yun won the tournament, so I think that's a win in itself as well.

Yeah, a Fei Long did. :P

And a Phoenix team won MvC3...and a Hakumen won BBCS...and a Kung Lao won MK...

Anyways, if anyone hasn't seen the full results they're here, among other places.

Did anyone here go to evo?
I was working the Brokentier booth and was just curious if anyone from shmups was running around.
I swore I saw two people running around with cave shirts......v0_o

Anyways, Latif is a beast, but Fuudo played really smart. GGs.

Played quite a bit of Guilty Gear while I was there.

I didn't enjoy either of the two matches I played. It's not my cup of tea, so don't take my word for it.
Dino Crisis level FTW.

Dude, no joke. You know how many Phoenix teams he had to survive to get 2nd place? That's some astounding consistency.

Serious. Not many people can say that they took out Justin Wong, Daigo, and Poongko in one fell swoop. Far from a "lucky break" at that point. For those of you who don't know who Poongko is, he's a Korean Seth player that absolutely humiliates people. For example one of his matches against Daigo was a perfect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AKVJEOSGRM

And here are some character-specific adjustments for the Marvel side - looks like "mash the button to do more damage" is back with a vengeance.

Of all the things to add to this new version of the game, that's got to be the worst. Second worst being Phoenix Wright. :P

+1 for opportunity to accidentally blow X-factor from mashing.

Yeah, I can't imagine too many fans were clambering for that feature to make a comeback...an option to turn it off would be nice, though I doubt we'll see it.

Also, in case anyone's interested, a video summary of some of the system-wide alterations.

I don't mind the "Mash buttons for damage" thing myself. I can't really imagine anyone activating X-Factor accidentally because of it or anything, since you won't be hitting S when you're mashing a super anyway. I dunno, I guess I'm somewhat nostalgic for it.

Ultimate's out in about a week: some video demonstrations of the tweaks done on the Marvel side if you need to prepare yourself to dominate at Evo next year.

MODOK is actually a playable character? I was thinking of making of list of characters like MODOK as a joke. I hope they don't end up using the mole man as a character. Also, I found the new name to be somewhat odd considering, unless I'm mistaken, the characters seem to be based on the Earth-616 (mainstream) universe rather than the Ultimate universe.

not enough people read ultimate compared to 616. This would of been a decision by marvel I bet. They impose a lot of rules on this series.

More rage fuel for Mega Man fans - if you REALLY want to play as him (sort of), you can fork out for this Mega Man X costume DLC for Zero.

Are scans okay to post here? This image has all of the new DLC costumes: http://i.imgur.com/No0y2.jpg

Lots of cool ones in there. Scarlet Spider, Real Rad Spencer, Trish's Gloria outfit, RE3 Jill, Mega Man X, and Felcia as Yellow Iris from Battle Circuit (!).
