Re: XOP, a 2D shooter
I shoulda got into this thread earlier. It's a great game, I just wish you had the option to make the game automatically switch to weapon 2 while holding down the focus button and switch back when you release, instead of making it a toggle.
I don't quite understand the green bullets to target ground enemies. In stage 1, am I supposed to be able to destroy that purple battleship in the background?

Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.
An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.
Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Whoa, found a bug in XOP Ultra. I started a game, then quit from the menu; let some time pass on the title screen and it went back to the ToastSoft logo, then it went back to the game I had quit except it was all black. I could still move around and shoot, and Esc works.

Re: XOP, a 2D shooter
Was playing Medium Death mode on XOP Ultra. Just finished a stage that had some huge scoring in it and brought me to over 700 million in total score despite not so good performance elsewhere. Then the game crashed after I beat the stage. I wasn't keeping track of the stages, but I think it was stage 4. It was a bad run anyway since I used Implosion the entire run and panic bombed a lot since it was my first time playing the game.
Edit: Set 1, not Set 2

Re: XOP, a 2D shooter
I completely suck at these.
BTW, can you not fight the TLBs in Score Attack outside of the TLB Rush? Are the TLBs in TLB Rush are accurate to the maingames?
And what's the extend settings for each of the modes?
Not that I can get through Stage 5 of XOP Black Ultra in score attack on Advanced Original. Okay, possibly with bombspam, but there's the other 4 stages too. Ex5 seemed easier to clear on Advanced Original, but I'd need to practice all those too.
Oh, and what are the TLB requirements anyway? 1cc, 1lc, bomb/lives used, or what? Does it require a certain difficulty?
Another problem is the game freezes for a little bit when using the bomb on certain patterns. The actions still pretty much going on during that time though.

If it happens again, I'll make sure to. I was trying to play through again but kept screwing stuff up though.

Re: XOP, a 2D shooter
Just did a no miss/no bomb in XOP Ultra, Set 2, Original mode, Medium diff and after the fourth boss the game crashed.
I'm half pissed, my score wasn't too shabby.
Is there an extra stage that the game couldn't load or why did it crash?

Ok, I found what the issue was. The bonus level files were just plain not being included in the data file. Ooooooops.
So the game wasn't actually crashing, but was quitting due to the files not being there.
Re-uploaded with the proper files in place.

Commiserations- that really does suck!Udderdude wrote:XOP Black Ultra offically rejected for Steam distribution, hooray.
I guess I find it hard to take their rejection as anything but an admission that they accept indie games by popularity/hype, as they've got utterly overrated horeseshit like Inside A Star Filled Sky on there.
At least it has a very good reputation and loyal fanbase here
Maybe you wouldn't want to be in the same stable as Razor 2 anyway eh?

You ought to emulate x.x and make ecchi drawings of your lolis to drum up more support. I'm serious, it really works.
