Whoa, somebody's uploaded Cyborgs Don't Sleep by Tuff Enuff on YouTube AT LAST. Enjoy some of the finest guitar riffs to ever grace the last century's last decade:

"Dead Point"

"Kovalsky"

Not unlike Prong doing... things to Killing Joke. You know, things. Also, the "English" lyrics. To quote Bob Dylan:
Play fucking loud.
P.S. Aso, THIS. Guitar music in general still didn't reek of exhumation back then.

Been getting into Alice in Chains a lot recently. Feel like I've been missing out for way too long.

And, as always, Tool. This song is fucking crazy, especially when you can actually follow what he is saying.

My body was not ready for this. Now excuse me while I cry myself to sleep (again) over the fact Examu has given up on this game.

Bonus points for the fact that it was made in 2011, but it absolutely wreaks of 90's.

This hasn't left my fucking head for the past 20 minutes at least.

I really wish that the one part of the song didn't repeat itself more than once, but other than that, it's a very fresh sounding, all around enjoyable song.

I am completely in love with this girl. She goes by the stage name of "Russian Red." Although she appears to have a strong Spanish and Korean following, she has yet to grab the attention of the vast majority of America (and with good reason; the lot of them can't be arsed to investigate any artist who lies outside of the narrow constraints of mainstream media-land.).

The cover is of a Roy Orbison song.

Awesome song! It's one of those songs that gives me goose bumps every time I hear it! It also reminds me of high school, and how long ago that was.

Dude, I totally feel the same way. There's so much energy being released in this song, it's incredible. Adrenaline FTW!
It also reminds me of high school, and how long ago that was.
I'm 22, so it's been three or four years since I last set foot in a high school classroom. Honestly, I've changed so much since then that those memories don't feel like my own, but more like from someone else's life. But my appreciation for the Deftones hasn't changed, thankfully. I remember my parents confiscating the album because they thought it was "impure", so I got up early one morning, went to the tech lab at school and downloaded their discography via Limewire (lol), and burned it to discs. Good times.

But White Pony (Back to School and Digital Bath in particular) reminds me of high school most. Sadly, I don't get excited about much in the way of music these days, though I am certainly open minded to passionate, unique sounding bands. Like these guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jT31SnpJ0o. The band is called Kaddisfly and, no joke, I was best friends with the lead guitarist's younger brother for years. And oddly enough, he was the one whom I discovered Deftones from. He showed me "7 Words" on the school's computer, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I really haven't listened to much of their stuff after Around the fur; heard a bit and didn't like the direction they were going.

IIRC I was in grade 9 or 10 when Adrenaline came out, and shortly after that Korn dropped Life is Peachy. I was big into that crap back then....

I remember seeing Korn live just after Life is Peachy came out, and Limp Bizkit opened for them, and this was a few years before anybody knew who they were.....they got booed pretty hard!! Helmet also opened, but they rocked!!

It's kind of funny looking back to those years and the stuff I listened to compared to what I listen to now. A lot of the stuff I liked then I would be embarrassed to listen to now.

Although I have gone back and started listening to all the skate punk and stuff from the 90's again.

Dude, I totally understand. I liked Korn's "Follow the Leader" album, as well as Disturbed (hangs his head in shame), Creed (muscles lock up in anguish), and even Brittany Spears, J-Lo and Nelly. (shudders). But yeah, if given the choice to get into a time machine and kick my middle school self's ass, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Limp Bizkit... booed pretty hard!!

Sounds like my kinda audience. Fred Durst is a retard who tries waaaay to hard to be cool. He's like those white kids who think they're black gangstas. In their head, they're awesome, but everyone else is laughing at them. Someone like Clint Eastwood, who is naturally cool, can let out a fart in a restaurant, and everyone would turn around and go "Whoa! Incredible!"
Helmet also opened, but they rocked!!

Check out Deftones' cover of "Sinatra" by Helmet. Really great stuff.

Your 90's comment reminded me of seeing this song on channel MAX's "90's One-hit Wonders":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIGMUAMevH0&ob=av3e

I'm not a fan of Glee, but if they were to ever get my interest they should cover that song instead of shitty Lady Gaga stuff and whatnot. I'd be interested to see their take on something a bit more happy rock.

It's about "realizing their actuality." And judging by the look on Jane's face, she's realized it a couple of times already.
