Suggestions for my final 1cc.
Suggestions for my final 1cc.
I started in June of 2003 playing these quirky little games of dodging flourescent bullets. In August or September of that year, I finally bested Battle Bakraid, starting this whole tirade. Around twenty-five or so, I decided that I would take a break at fifty, and focus solely, and leisurely, on quality games. Up to this point, nothing that I've bested has even bordered on the upper echelons of challenge, which is a thorn in my side. I've beat crap (read: God Panic), I've beat the epitome of shmupping (for me, Shiki 2), and now I want to take a break. But not without something significant falling. I never got around to Cave, and I never really got around to Psikyo. I also never got around to many classics, such as Gradius. ...and no, I don't play for score.
So, suggestions? I was thinking of perhaps going back to the beginning of manics with Donpachi, or the roots of Psikyo with Aero Fighters. Last time I checked, I needed one or two (Sonic Wings Special Time Attack can kiss my ass, btw...no way does that count).
Oh, and if anyone mentions R-Type...........

i've never had the privelege of playing Radiant Silvergun, but from what i've heard from a good friend of mine:
"Radiant Silvergun... one of those games where, after you beat it, you want to turn the TV off, go outside, light up a cigarette and watch the grass grow."
i'd say, if you're really taking a break from shmupping, go out in style (assuming you have the budget) and get Radiant. from everything i've read about it, to everything i've heard from people who've actually played the game, it's truly epic.

You beat Donpachi no clear no miss? Replay vid please sir... or "cough" BS or do you mean first loop only?Damocles wrote:Donpachi is now dead. First run of the night, at 4:30am, and running off of 3 hours sleep. Zanac Neo also fell tonight. If I ever start back up again, I suppose I'll still have that no-miss, no-bomb run to look forward to.
