Heh, this is how it tends to turn out when it's me versus Someone Who Kinda Knows What he's Doing - on a brighter note, hopefully this means that there'll be a nice variety of score submissions, rather than the boards being dominated by one ship. :)

I have a feeling that in the end Kochauran (ship 2) will be the most used. Although his option can't lock in place, his shot has homing and his Ninja Attack can clear enemies in multiple locations which is huge. I just tried a credit with him now that I understand how to make the energy-orbs grow and I was able to get to the boss in Zetsu mode.

So in u guys opinion what is the best way 2 play this on a wide screen, flat screened CRT. It's impossible 2 get rid of the black Borders top and bottom right? Or have i missed something? My tv has 4:3 and 16:9. Having alot of fun with this1, which is unusual for me when it comes to point blanking scoring mechanisms. But it's just soo satisfying to Plow those katanas right through More than a screen full of enemies :)))) pity the soundtrack isn't a bit more memorable. Oh well.

Just realized there is an "demo/tutorial" just don't press start when game boots.
It's the same drawn out ridiculously long video that was floating around before release.

It is actually rather annoying. A forum I used to go to had a rule where typing like that got you banned, which I think is a bit extreme, but at the same time this isn't Pre-Paid Mobile Text Messaging where you get charged extra for having proper grammar. Definitely not the worst piece of text talk I've seen though.

I'm really impressed with this game overall. It looks slick, the music gets you pumped up, and it's just fun to play.

Though it's Shin mode that does it for me. If this game didn't have this mode, I would be disappointed. I probably need to give arcade mode more time, but I just can't get into it. It's very awkward and confusing.

This game is very close to my all time favorite CAVE shmup.. it's a juggle between Mushifutari, Esp II, and Akai Katana Shin.

Anyone feel this game is a bit easy to 1cc? I'd say it's the second easiest CAVE game to 1cc after Deathsmiles. I 1cc the game on my 3rd try. Owells that doesn't matter because when scoring this game is pretty challenging.

Once it clicks it's immensely satisfying - huge amounts of slowdown, pixel perfect dodging and constantly jumping in and out of ninja mode surrounded by huge clouds of bullets.

I'm struggling with arcade/zetsu at the moment because the timing is different to the PCB (due to the decreased slowdown), I keep getting hit while waiting for the energy orbs to reach my ship.

Not very important, but I really like the additional voices added by the DLC. I don't know what they're saying, but it adds some drama.

Nice run! And nice quality vid too, most of the others I looked for on YouTube were a pixelblurfest.

Makes me want to get the game but too bad it isn't region-free. I'd ask a few other questions about this mode but I think they've all been answered way back when I told everyone to wake me up when this game port sees the light of day so I'll look it all up first.

EDIT:
chempop wrote:All the screen options are there - zoom, x-axis, y-axis, up/down, left/right, but they don't apply if you turn 4:3 zoom on. I'm using 4:3 and the right and left sides are cut off on my tv in arcade mode which sucks because I can't see the bosses life-bar.
So to get this straight for what I'm sure is the unteenth time: the game has black borders ala Guwange, has a Wide mode of sorts which not only kills sides in the 16:9 arrange modes but the the original 4:3 mode too? D:

Is there any guide for arcade mode? When I try to copy the replays... it just doesn't work out. They manage to keep their barrier up longer than me... i just don't get it.

Also I recorded the TLB and ending for shin mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEOkMU-I2Mw

No, it's got a completely different problem - the picture fills the 4:3 screen, but the game doesn't obey the zoom settings, so on most CRT TVs ~10% of the screen will be cut off due to overscan.

Well thats just terrible. We should get a bunch of people nagging Cave to make a patch for it like we did for Guwange. I'd do it but I dont know how to use Twitter (social networking idiot here).

Got my copy today. Couple questions.

1. What is Zetsu mode anyway? I played it and from what I can tell it's just a 4:3 version of arcade mode.

2. What triggers the autobomb? Sometimes it'll trigger, sometimes it won't and when it does I might be imagining it but it depletes my entire bomb stock.

It's basically a "remix" or "1.5" revision of Arcade - the scoring and such is the same, but a bunch of things have been tweaked. EOJ's got a long list of the changes on his site.

If you take a hit on your last life and have any bombs left in stock, they'll be spent on a last-ditch autobomb.

cool. So Zetsu is like a black label mode and autobomb only happens on your last life. Right on.

Zetsu is Arcade mode without the hardware limitations of a low res PCB. More stuff and in 16:9.

From the replays I dled and watch.. I don't think there is one. I guess you can consider the last life auto bomb as the extra 1-up :P
