Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
Thanks chempop. For me, it all came down to rank control. I had to just get serious and play it like Battle Garegga. I suicide on every boss up through stage 4, and then try to keep at least one extra life going into stage 5. With all the points that come at you in 5, I was able to keep 3 to 4 lives in stock throughout the stage, giving me enough to clumsily bomb my way through the finale.

So I've been playing with Ikuo (blue) the last couple of days, and I'm curious if anyone can explain why she's supposed to be the best choice for scoring. I just don't get it honestly. The powerful shot is nice for wearing down big enemies/bosses, and the width of her Lard Beam is nice for turning waves of popcorn enemies into gold, but I still don't see those things as making a major impact on my score. Granted, I'm a MMP minnow, barely able to scrape together a 100m run. Is there a particular strategy with her that I'm just missing?

I imagined it had something to do with her options locking onto specific targets, but I dunno. I'd like to know as well.

Her bomb is best for milking bosses, I think, due to its ability to be aimed precisely and its long duration.
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
But her bomb has the shortest duration of three, right?RNGmaster wrote:Her bomb is best for milking bosses, I think, due to its ability to be aimed precisely and its long duration.

Yeah, Ikuo's bomb is the shortest and Rafute's is the longest IIRC. I think it's the fact Ikuo's bomb is short but focused that makes it ideal for scoring - I guess because you can recharge your lard meter quickly while doing minimal damage to the boss in the process.8 1/2 wrote:But her bomb has the shortest duration of three, right?RNGmaster wrote:Her bomb is best for milking bosses, I think, due to its ability to be aimed precisely and its long duration.
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
Yeah, I guess in terms of total frames, but it causes hella slowdown, so I didn't recognize the it was the shortest just from looking at the superplays. Derp!8 1/2 wrote: But her bomb has the shortest duration of three, right?
This is the key, I think. You can continue milking for a pretty long time in general if you keep suiciding at 0 bombs and getting extends, but the other two characters have a tendency to kill off bosses before they can blow all their resources on milking.StarCreator wrote:I think it's the fact Ikuo's bomb is short but focused that makes it ideal for scoring - I guess because you can recharge your lard meter quickly while doing minimal damage to the boss in the process.
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
All her attacks are straight and focused, which makes it easier to attack select targets to generate quick Lard Attack power, while leaving enough on screen for gold. Momo's attacks are too widespread and have a slight napalm burst, while Rafute's disks fly all over the place. Their bombs cover most of the screen, too, which makes milking bosses more difficult, as their bombs always hit weak points, while Ikuo's can be aimed away from target points.8 1/2 wrote:So I've been playing with Ikuo (blue) the last couple of days, and I'm curious if anyone can explain why she's supposed to be the best choice for scoring.
Watch this st3 run by LIS, if you want to see the right way to play Ikuo. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3167072

Where can I still buy the Regular Edition which includes the DLC? Or the Regular Edition at all?
Was there a special version for amazon.co.jp?

Look one page back in this topic. There's a sticker on the shrinkwrap for the ones with the DLC.
If I wanted to make sure I got the DLC, I'd ask a seller if their stock has this sticker before I bought from them.

Is there some way of more quickly absorbing gold? I swear when I watch videos, these people are doing it twice as fast as I can. Whenever I do it, it seems like there's always some sort of delay in the process. Maybe I'm just not watching the videos closely enough.
ED: Also, that vid Icarus posted has led to my most infuriating games of Muchi Muchi Pork ever. Somehow, watching them actually made me WORSE at getting up to 10k pork medals quickly, and the shenanigans I got into caused me to scream at my TV and curse Ikuo for all time.

Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
So, I have this game and I have a problem.
I'm playing on a widescreen TV rotated (not ideal but here is the problem).
In every other game I Tate the picture in-game and then use the game's zoom function to zoom the picture (both X and Y) until it is as wide as the TV permits, and this gives me a proportioned images that fills the Tv as best it can.
In MMP/PS there is a problem. You Tate the image, but this doesn't seem to increase available screen-space in the Y direction. In fact you can see this because when you tate the game image is horribly squashed under default settings. Now you can adjust the X and Y zoom independently and zoom X to fill the screen width, however Y cannot be zoomed enough to keep the picture in proportion and there seems to be an artificially imposed border in the Y direction that stops it zooming any further.
I don't suppose anyone has a clue what I'm talking about, but is there any way to sort this out. The image is way too small like this, and I have to play it in Yoko on my big screen just to make it large enough to see because so much vertical screen space is being unoccupied because of the game's weird settings.

Let go of lard shot, double tap normal shot. At least that's the habit I got in to.Special World wrote:Is there some way of more quickly absorbing gold? I'm having screen issues with my 4:3 monitor, the game is still loading in widescreen with bars across the top and bottom and I can't get it to not do that.
The dash fills up the screen fine, and any of my other games are also running fine (haven't tried Akai Katana on it yet) is there any way to get this set to run in 4:3?

I know what they've done and it's very annoying.
When you Tate the game, instead of presenting the game in the 3:4 ratio that it should do, it flips the ratio as well as rolling the image through 90 degrees, so you have a tate'd screen but still with a 4:3 ratio which is useless.
I assume this is a cock-up that was meant to be patched but never was.

OK, I've found the answer (or an answer at least)
Put the 360 into 480p mode, "normal" tv format (4:3)
Run the game, turn wide mode off and then you'll be able to fit the game fullscreen to a Tate'd 4:3 display.

Are you going to start complaining about Pink Sweets once you've 1cc'd Futari?DrTrouserPlank wrote:OK, I've found the answer (or an answer at least)

Considering how extremely memo reliant it is, it wouldn't surprise me.
Isn't Pink Sweets 1.00 on the level of the Ultras? At least later on. And the port doesn't have the infinite lives trick.
And unlike Futari Original, Pink Sweets(in any mode) has some pretty cheap death spots.

Pink Sweets is difficult, and 1.00 makes it even harder what with the lack of the infinite lives trick.

I'm trying to find ways to make it more challenging. I am currently trying to clear it with my head immersed in a bucket of water. I only come up for air once I finish a stage. Occasionally I black-out and lose a life which is quite annoying.

Hi, I know that the game is region-free, but I've been looking to purchase this game from sites like ebay and yesasia and they claim that the game is only playable with japanese and asian xbox consoles. Are there copies of the game around that are only readable with those consoles, or are all copies region-free and they do not want the responsibility of dealing with a customer who claims it will not work with a US console?
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
100% region-free (I'm playing it on a EU-PAL 360), look at NCSX http://www.shopncsx.com/muchimuchipor-1.aspx. All of them, not like Galuda II where the LE was locked to Japan. And it's worth each and every buck you're gonna pay for it, especially if you can get one of those first prints with the MMP Matsuri DLC included.

Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
I think all the LEs come with the DLC card.

I bought the LE from amazon.co.jp and had it shipped to Canada through dv8cag.com (highly recommended)
It had the DLC card.

awesome, thanks for that link. I'll give it a shot! I'm a fellow CAG myself!
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
By the way, could anybody here provide a link for a translation of MMP and/or Pink Sweets story/plot/compendium of bollocks/whatever? Yeah, I know it's almost as important for the salvation of mankind as Crimzon Clover's plot arc but even then I'd like to know why on earth should I control demented chubby-lolis with pig ears or either control a gal in stockings to fight against the most tacky army ever overminded by the sissy version of The Phantom of the Opera.

Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
Crimzon Clover doesn't even have a plot at all, unless you make one up.Zosite wrote:Yeah, I know it's almost as important for the salvation of mankind as Crimzon Clover's plot arc...
I think that the plot of Muchi Pork is that the heroines are collecting pigs, but why they're doing that is beyond me.
Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
Yeah, I know. Not that it needs one either.Crimzon Clover doesn't even have a plot at all, unless you make one up.

Anyway, something tells me not a single person here knows what the hell are these two about. And in case I'm wrong I call for whoever can prove I'm wrong to show me how wrong I am. Please...?

Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
Quick and dirty explanation. Reading the MMP one may be bad for your sanity.
MMP: Some pig alien guy called General Pork Fillet comes to the town of Butazuka (=pig hill but punningly written with different characters) because he's heard how much they love pork there, but when he goes into a restaurant the guy says they only do beef so he gets mad about how much humans love eating beef, abducts the three main characters who were also in the restaurant (pink's family own it), dresses them in some funky pig cosplay, puts them on the pedal powered fighter craft things he's designed (which are not actually under the control of the girls, they go automatically) and sends them out to take over the world and turn humanity into pigs. All the enemies in the levels are the robot defence force that's in Butazuka for some reason that I've either forgotten or doesn't actually exist, the bosses are General Pork Fillet's underlings so really on "your side" (even if the girl's aren't willingly on that side) but fight you because they don't trust you. I don't know why you fight Pork Fillet because I haven't got that far.
PS: An awesome dude called Big Burn decides he's going to marry Teresa Rose no matter what she has to say about it, her "daughters" go to rescue her and his underlings try to stop them. The sixth boss is his son even though he looks like a girl and wears a girl's swimsuit.
