Curse for Genesis:
made by Micronet was meant to to be published by INTV Corporation
Curse was advertised in magazine ads and reviewed in EGM - but Curse never made it out in the U.S.
- It only came out for the Megadrive in Japan

The Gameboy Color version of Section 7.
There is a cell phone version but pretty much all of Karma Studios anounced GBC games (except one) is gone from their site and I can't find any info on them apart from some old previews. Still have the pack of mp3 files from their GBC games that was available on their site.

May be. Impossible to ignore however, especially after all the talking here on shmups.com about it.Thunder Force wrote:That sounds like a wishful joke not a rumor.zinger wrote:As far as I know, they dissappeared some time around 2000, after making a bunch of RPG's. I am sorry, but I just can't help bringing the game up again.

There's actually a ROM available for the GBC and GBA versions of Tyrian 2000 available on the internet. Oddly enough, the GBC version is far superior to the GBA version. I'm not sure if these are public domain, though.K-J N. wrote:Some more unreleased portable shooters.

Yep, it's true...gigadrive32 wrote:I believe it. any info on it that you remember?Rob wrote:Axelay 2
I'll bet it was mentioned in magazines sometime during the mid to late 1990s...
If you complete Axelay in hard mode, you'll get this:
"See you again at: Axelay 2"!?
It's a pity KONAMI Never made this!
I've never heard of this before!Super Laydock wrote:I am sorry, but I just can't help bringing the game up again.

It seems that it borows elements form other shooters like pulstar, blazing star, R-Type & Apidya.
That Praying Mantis Boss looks just like the one at the end of Medows Edge level in Apidya (AMIGA)
And that Boss thing with the spot light, I don't think there is anything similar in any other shooter.
Again, pity this was never released...
Was it a Euro developement team behind this one?
I remember reading an article in AMIGA Format Magazine back in 1993, that Team 17 were developing Project X-2 for the A1200, with enhanced 256 colour graphics n stuff, but it was released for the PSX in 1996 instead.
As for Thunder Force VI...
This is some nice concept art & modeling.

Though it was not "announced" Toaplan Shooting Battle - Vol 1 sort of implied there would be more. This is perhaps the worst omission in terms of shooter games that could have been... arcade perfect (within reason) ports of the entire Toaplan library. Sniff... sniff... no, it's okay, that's just dust causing my eyes to water...

It was developped by a German team (Duranik).ST Dragon wrote:Again, pity this was never released...Native for the Atari Jaguar: ...

Duranik is said to be working on a new shooter project, but this time for the Dreamcast (hence the DC with the fish on it in the top bar of his website).
Let's hope there'll be some info soon and that it'll see a release this time.

There werw indeed rumours of Duranik porting/finishing the game for the Dreamcast.jp wrote:Wasn't Native being ported to the DC at one point? But cancelled in lieu of a new game?
It became clear however that this was not the case.
Duranik is developping a DC shooter, but a totaly new one.

Well if they can make a Jaguar game that looks that nice, I'd love to see what they can pull-off on the DC.
Shame that Native never made it out. The Jag community is still very big though, plenty of homebrew/canned games getting released. I'd get a Jag just to play Native and AvP. Surely it deserves a DC release? Can't let all that code and graphics go to waste.
