Question: When I play shmups on the Neo Geo AES, what's the common rule to set the difficulty when there's an "MVS" option? Do I leave it in default or always set it to MVS?

Anybody know the first shmup where bullets transform into bonus pickups when the parent ship is destroyed? Is it DoDonPachi's bosses?
Also, and I know this is cheating, because this is a second question, but: what was the first shmup to feature bonus pickups that travel towards you? I mean like rings in Sonic 3 when you have the electric shield.

Can I play Otomedius Gorgeous on my US 360 if I purchase it via xbla on a jp account?

I don't want to buy it and it not work for some reason. Still not even sure I will get it, but I am considering it, as my gf loves Parodius

I do the opposite (buy US games and play on Jap accounts) all the time, with no hassle at all. Wouldn't be able to tell if the contrary is feasible though.

Anyone else know the answer to this? I'd like to try it out as well.

OtoG won't work.

None of the games on demand will work because they're IP locked.

Thank you! Glad I didn't succumb to impatience and try it out myself.

This is usually what I see, and after just getting my hands on espgaluda, I don't find it to be easier than Mushi

I really think it depends on whether or not you play for score. I can see Espgaluda being easy if you play it defensively, and use your shield wisely, but trying to score, I have a really hard time with this game. It is very untraditional.

In playing both for survival, espgaluda is easier, but I would consider it much more difficult to get used to the scoring

Either way, Dodonpachi has them both, as I find survival and scoring to be quite tough.

MVS is the arcade difficulty level which is shown as level 4. AES difficulty is level 3.
