painted black!

What do you guys think? Should I keep it white with black stripes as it is now, or should I go black?

Just install a polarity switch system and you can have the best of both worlds at the flick of a lever.

It's not a car...it's a puzzle game, disguised as a car!

My dad's '70 Chevelle was black with blue pinstripes, so I'll always have a soft spot for a black Chevelle.

Maybe you could install a polarity switch.

Quote o' the day.

In any event, methinks the car will look good either way, it just has a different "aura" about it with the different colors; neither's really better than the other IMO, it just depends what you want people to think when they look at the thing.

Personally, I like it the way it is. However, I do like black Muscle Cars, and black does look sinister!

Solid black may even be cheaper than a base coat with stripes. So, it all depends on the deal thats worked out.

I just happend to find this one on the internet...its just like mine/same year etc. But, instead, its black with white stripes. Yea, reverse polarity.

I knew the Ikaruga referance would somehow be mentioned, and I kinda like the term I-CAR-uga (EE-Car Ugah)

paint one half black and one half white, and keep two cans of paint in the car at all time for easy switching.
This causes to me a sensation of badness. - Stormwatch

Hee hee, that'd be great...you're stopped at an intersection and you look out your window to see some guy's arm with a paintbrush sticking out on a Chevelle, brush-stroking frantically to effect the change before the black Charger down the road can get there...

Just keep it black, that looks sweet.

BTW Twitch, have you ever considered getting a shmup or game themed license plate? Or do ya think that would make you look like a dork with your car club cronies? ;)

Ever seen those cars with flames painted on the sides? 70's style? Now that'd be cool!

I have thought about putting "TWITCH" on the license plates, but it costs a little bit too much right now. You have to pay around an extra $50 for personalized plates.

I once suggested "TWCHDKTR" in one of his "car" threads from some time ago. I'm sure there are lots of other possibilities...if he went with an "Ikaruga" theme I'd love to see "IMNTRGRT," heh heh.

When painted black, it makes me think of a camaro. I think your car looks better in white with the stripe.

If you go black, are you going to go with a gold stripe? That would totally be camaroish :)

Well, as its stands, its been confused with a 69 Camaro, as well a a late 60's early 70's Nova! Mostly Nova's though. When I tell em its a Chevelle, they're like "Ohhh, no shit"! I guess Chevelles still demand more respect than Nova's ever will.

Nah, Nova's are still cool by me though...

I say leave it white. It's too bad it's not a '69 though, since then you could get some metal '69' numbers and put them in front of the grille where the 'SS' normally goes.

Any chance of showing any pics of it in white? I haven't seen any good pics of your car, Twitch.

It's cool that you've never gave up on this car, what with all the crap you have to put up with. I guess that's true love for ya.

Anyway, I think you should keep the white and maybe paint some black stripes on it. And then get a plate that says "IKARUGA." (Unoriginal I know, but i gotta say it. )

These are the only photo's I have...they were taken about a year ago or so.
Since then the engine was fully detailed, but since the rear end crash, well battery acid sprayed all over the engine; ruining all the chrome.

The engine will be detailed again one day soon with new chrome parts.
More than likely after the body and paint.

Wow, that's a nice car Twitch.

Keep the paint job the way it is, black is too common for a car.
