It's not the most astonishing find of all time, but it's still fairly noteworthy. It's larger than Pluto, a pretty significant-sized chunk of rock. It's certainly no mere asteroid...a once-in-a-century discovery.

I'm more interested in space than what's on TV...Super Laydock wrote:10th "Planet" in our solar system, one of the multi-billion other ones we didn't know as of yet. Some of Jupiters moons are probably bigger than this...

Eugenics: you know it's right!
What I wanna see is how the astrological community accepts the discovery of this new celestial object, since wouldn't that mean every "prophecy" they've ever made is off by a planet's width?

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

So many rocks and objects in space! I guess we could get all excited about every new orbiting rock in space but I could care less.
Now if it was a totally NEW phenomenon I'd want to know about it, but this "tenth planet" rumour as been going on since (probable before) I was able to read. So we found one now, we'll find another one in time too I believe.
In short, nice to know, but not worth the fuzz.

I don't think it should be classified as a planet, and I don't believe Pluto should be either, if it were discovered today.
Pluto does present a special case, though. I feel that since it was discovered before we knew any better, it should retain its designation as a planet, even though it's just a Kuiper Belt Object.
