bpe - 4,642,661 - Stage 4 - Original (unhacked arcade)

Pathetic, I know.

Felt like such a dork for taking a pic of the screen, but like hell I'll remember 7 digits (let alone 8, hopefully soon) :)

kawaijb - 182,706,299 - Stage 5 arrange mode default buttons

the true last boss has very much life

MonkeyMan, how many lives do you need for him? my last life for me is very not enough (only 1/4 of the boss beaten)

I couldn't believe it when a second boss came at the end, I killed the (first) last boss on my last life with no bombs left - I was absolutely ecstatic and started to relax...Then the 'true' last boss appeared and caught me off guard, killing me with his first attack. :P

My best run on him was with 5 lives, 1 bomb and I came out with my last life and 3 bombs in stock, so I got hit 14 times I think.

You don't. You just write down your score after you lose your last life.

Unless you are looking at your score at the moment you die I dont think its possible because when it goes to the continue counter you score disapears. Unless I'm blind...

My third run ever in Arrange mode tonight yields...

ARRANGE MODE:

TWE - 152,742,233 - Stage 5 - no rapid fire

S-Power, 2P side (girl with white hair and tan skin). 8)

Lost my last life on the penultimate final boss, when its life was down to just a hair. "Just a couple more shots" [/DDP DOJ impersonation]
Man, that Stage 5 on Arrange is quite an experience. Getting through it without losing a life (up until the boss) my first time playing it was such a thrill.

Found the secret to the big scores in Arrange mode.

MrMonkeyMan - 466,974,819 - 5 - Arrange

Too bad I couldn't clear it on that one.

You wanna share it? I still cannot get the whole skyrocketing score thing to work at all. And I always lose my chain. I watched a video where the guy got over 50,000 in the first stage. I kept thinking to myself that his chain counter should have been decreasing all over the place, but it just wasn't. I think he had 20mil+ points at the end of stage 1. I'm usually happy with 4.6 mil.

The real change comes from the clear bonuses. I had a horrible run, but ended up clearing the game with a life in stock and got 100 million bonus for it.

Yeah Yeah, tell this secret Monkeyman :P
(I think about the power change)

100 million bonuses for 1 life is just amazing

besides, in stage 1, if you link "correctly", 10/12 millions are "easily" possible

There's enough stuff going on in certain parts of the game that I can hit Start before the game acknowledges I'm dead :)

Alternate rapid-fire controls (still trying to figure out what I'm doing with them :) ), Ultra mode:
inc - 3,264,314 - Stage 2

edit:

default Ultra board:
inc - 6,345,773 - Stage 2

Apparently now is not the time for me to be experimenting with rapid-fire controls.

Holy crap, a 100 million life bonus?? I didn't even know about that. I haven't cleared it with an extra life yet.

I've just discovered that point blanking while only holding A racks up your chain a hell of a lot quicker then holding just C or A+C. I also think using W shot on the first 2, and half of the 3rd level, and S shot the rest of the game seems to work better as well.

Just an example of using A and pointblanking is the start of stage 5. I run to the top left corner, and by the time I've killed everything just in that corner I already have a 13,000 chain.

Hell, now I have to go beat that mode with some extra lives in stock. I was think 500 million would be good, but I bet I could clear it with 2 extra lives sooner or later.

S power is the only way I can do it (I've beaten Arrange twice, both times with a spare life in stock). If I get to him with W power it's all over.

I usually use S but today I tried W and did my best getting him down to 1/3 of his life. Its kind of had to position yourself direcly underneath with all the mess on the screen but I'll give S another 'shot'.

Here's an arcade non-autofire Original Mode score from 3 months ago;

Original Mode Default
DEL - 50,484,453 - ALL

Lost a life millimetres from the 1LC & haven't 1LC'd it since  - there's always a silly bullet with my name on it!

My LE has just arrived, so I'll be messing around with the A+ C+ settings. I''ll try 5,2 and 2,2.

kawaijb - 107,166,944 - Stage 4 - rapid fire maniac

a very very bad run in stage 3 (2 lives lost, breaking combo)
(my namco stick has to be fixed, I play with a DC one, not my favorite)
sorry for my "bagg-apologizes"

Congratulations MonkeyMan, you're really a warrior,
now try to do the same score in maniac mode (900 million is the best without rapid  )

edit :

kawaijb - 145,467,199 - Stage 4 - rapid fire maniac

a "perfect" run in stage 2, one life lost at the end of the stage 3 (138 million at the end of stage 3), stage 4 in panic mode lol
next to you cigsthecat

DEL, if you find how to set two different C+ on PS2, let us know, maybe with the option "NG" I don't know what's the use of it
I use only the C+ set at 2, when A+ is needed I smash myself the button
and, do you know what is the powerfull combination?

SFKhoa- Just so you know my 59 mil score in Maniac mode was with rapid fire. So it should be on the alternate table. Thanks!

Were the rapid fire settings set to anything OTHER than "1"?

Umm, by default it doesn't actually bind the 'rapid' keys. ANY use of those is 'non-default', and can probably trigger the banking (just not optimally). What the value of the rapid fire settings isn't really relevant.

If the point of the seperate tables is to allow people who don't want to worry about the silly skyrocketing counter stuff to be seperate from those who are using skyrocketing (or at least trying to), any use of 'rapid full auto' or 'rapid shot' should put them in the 'alternate' table.
