I am complete rubbish at the Vs games. I hope to get a bit better, but it moves so fast.

Will be picking this up shortly. I did fall for the whole SF4 reboot so why not give this a try. The videos look impressive, but I'm with everyone in this thread who talked about sucking at the MvC series because everything flies around too fast. In SSF4 or BB I can actually think for 0.5 seconds and make an intelligent move (maybe).

Also, I'm pretty excited that somebody brought up Bucky O'Hare. One of my favorite proto-furry franchises that came along in the post-TMNT flood.

I really don't like the look of it - like everything's made out of plasticine. I'll get it at some point though as there are some interesting characters in there, though it's a shame there's no Demitri - too much memory apparently. From what I can tell it's similar to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which I enjoyed for a bit.

When are they going to get round to rebooting Darkstalkers...

Picked this up today, really enjoying it. Mission mode makes learning basic combos a snap (well, as much of one as it can be anyway), the game looks great (seriously, screenshots and watching vids online really don't do it justice, it looks great in 60fps in motion), it controls fluidly, and is just plain fun. I'll be hitting it hard these next few weeks, got some local tourneys coming up that I'd like to at least do halfway decent in.

Good to hear. I need all the training I can get :D I haven't picked up the game yet, but I swung by this event and had a good time watching people much better than I play and got my butt kicked a bit :D

yeah... that mission mode is helpful. I went through about 20% of the roster (getting to mission 8 or 7 for most of the characters), before my brain just started shutting down.

but it seems like if I pick three main characters, I should be able to make something not too shameful.

picked this up, serious contender for game of the year in my books so far :D way fun! much better than MvC2, a bit of a return to MvC1's form.

very fun roster, loving the playstyles of Amatersu, Arthur, and Deadpool the most right now. Super Skrull is a bunch of fun too.

basically, fun. fun, fun, fun.

Pro players are already trying to figure out how to ignore 80 percent of the roster. 100 percents discovered. Mahvel baybee.

aparenltey everyone has 100% It will die off once AE gets to the home and then you will see the really crazy games from the people who stick with it in 12months + time.

Right now its like this
OMG- Hi youtube my name is X-fistycuffs97 and i have discovred a 100% damage combo on ruy when using Dante with the support of magneto ~Gurk!!11!
 its a race right now to find the tasiest character with the stupid infinites or just the most
ree-dick-a-less combos. Yawn~ Wong is already having a little cry about how easy it is  When really it more to do with him just reminding everyone that at one point he was the best at MVC2 and that its a difrent game. Same thing happend with daigo with Vanilla SFIV. He had a little cry and a bitch denounced the game and refused to play it. Then super drops and all of a sudden he is a monster is one of the best at the game again. I recon capcom paid him off to actually get in to the game. TBH vanilla was a bit wanky at least super has a bit more of a pace about it and the gap between tiers is a bit closer.

Dude, Daigo was right, in his defence. Vanilla SFIV was pretty unbalanced and crappy, but SSFIV turned it into a different game. Sounds like he was on the money to me.

And isn't Wong still the best at MVC2?

They worked on the engine, which is the same/a similar engine to the TvC engine.

Lol, I just got insta-banned over in SRK's mvc3 forum for posting this. Keep in mind that stuff like this thread runs amuck, untouched by mods. You wanna lock my thread? Fine. You wanna ban me? Fine. But you better be locking/banning everything/everyone that isn't adhering to the letter of the law.

Yeah, I don't post much on the game forums on SRK, I mostly stick to a couple General Discussion threads (like the shmup topic  ) and Tech Talk.

Sounds about right for SRK. No, it wasn't a useful thread, but I see no harm in it.

Maybe if they had an entire MvC3 General Discussion board, they wouldn't have to blow up users over threads like that.

Join the club. I've been a member/mod of many forums (some gaming, some not) and never received/given insta-bans.

Anyways, I'm pumped for this game. Can't wait to get some practice in with Team Mean Machines :D

SRK is in anti-MvC3 noob tsunami mode - the more people have to pick through less than useful/novelty threads in order to find SRS information, the more not-so-useful "how do I..." threads crop up.

So yah, things are going to be a mite fascist around there for a while, especially the MvC3 forums.

Dustloop is the same for Arc fans. It's like the entire fighting game community has no sense of humour. That or they're a bigger bunch of arrogant twats than the shmups community.

Anyways I still haven't gotten around to picking this up, but it looks to me like if you played TvC you've got a pretty good starting point. I'm glad to see they've switched to a 4-button layout.
