Heh, at least in PS there is an English translation for most voices so you can kind of understand what they're saying!

The thing I'm looking forward to most is how much you're all going to hate these games. :P

I'll bet only the arrange modes get played, as they look a ton easier with visible hitboxes, as well as much smaller hitbox for MMP. Perhaps this is what Asada was referring to in addressing the arcade difficulty.

Yay. More obscene instant gratification arrange modes. Fill up that screen with pork but you BETTER CLEAN YOUR PLATE BOY! (some sarcasm in this post)

Ha ha. Coming from a daioujou fan...I reckon I'd love them;0) You can be my co-pilot any day. I personally would rather have no bullet cancelling/auto boming like in DFKBL...but you can turn that off, right? I'm pretty sure you can.

The review I read, that sounded really good; was for an Amiga game-basically a remake of the first one, where you can run around inside the spacebattlebossship. I'm guessing that's the Uridium 2 that's meant.

From all the Cave reviews I've read...sounds like Ibara's the one I want the most [saw that on a map of Italy, looks like it's named after a region/province/town]....hardcore danmaku [DOJ], gets tougher to match your play style, awesome debrie/successor to BG/BB, and so on.....Pink Sweets;0) From my point of view, if the flak's increasing as you fcause more destruction/score better...then it's rewarding the player; with more intense action. I'm just worried the flak might speed-up, as your rank increases...does anyone know if this happens?

Yeah, dodgy arrange modes...cancelling flak and turning it into gems, that kind of thing....I wanna DODGE em up, not some kind of Pokeemon gotta-collect-em-all bounce-em-up. I don't wan't bullet-cancelling-even that shield in Pink Sweets worries me a bit...could that be some kind of design cop-out, an excuse to throw lots of FAST flak at you....'cause you have a shield? I love danmaku, but when a game becomes twitch [Thunderforce/Truxton] AND bullet curtain...that's just a bit much, unless you're a cyborg.

Pretty sure it's $18 (£11.15).

Have you factored in that AmiAmi probably means custom charges and delays that will add both £'s and weeks on to the delivery time? If you're in the UK you should be preparing for that.

Aw, you guys aren't still all cut up over me (and many others) not feeling DFK 1.5? As for these, I won't be leading any charge, I love the games. But I'll enjoy sitting back to watch the fireworks. Dunno why everyone has forgotten how much of a sadist Yagawa is in his old age.

Bullshit, you can be mine :) (couldn't resist!)

Although liking DOJ doesn't necessarily mean you can hang with PS or MMP (they're very different) if you've got a love of Ibara you'll be right at home. Yagawa's evil, lest we forget. He's embittered and angry, moreso than his Battle Garegga days, and he's taken secret vengeance on Cave for something or another.
Basically, Ibara is supremely tough, but Pink Sweets is tougher. If the idea of getting abused by a videogame is what drives you, you'll love it. Everyone else will sit back and wonder why they blew so much money on a game that's bordering on unfair.

MMP is definitely the more relaxed of the two, but as I mentioned as soon as you start playing it properly for score, you'll be lucky to see stage 3 anymore. It ranks up so hard it's akin to putting your head in a vice and turning the handle, and can be quite frustrating.
Ignore score (as in, don't read anything about it cos it's very addictive) and you'll probably enjoy the basic survival quite a bit.

Is it just me, or do both games have possibly the most annoying voices in any game ever? Maybe it's just the youtube/nico videos.
(I know that you'll probably be able to turn the voices off btw)

You are right. The ones in Pork are probably the most annoying voices I have ever heard in a shmup in my entire life. However, so far ALL games that Cave have released themselves(since Mushihimesama) have had the option to turn the voices down/off. Even Guwange.

QUESTION: Will the normal editions have the new soundtracks in them too(in game, not disc)? I'm a little behind on information on this one. That's some pretty serious music for MMP.

Back in the day, his games killed a lower number of players than they do currently.

Yeah, seriously. Yagawa just went on a mental when he joined Cave, I have no idea what possessed the guy to go and make the most bastardly difficult commercial shmups imaginable, but with Ibara and Pink Sweets he did the job.

Garegga compared to those two is pleasantly manageable.

Programming quirk: rank accumulates across all of his games.
Maximum rank level is currently unknown - more players will have to suicide to reduce rank.

That's actually a really interesting idea. Could be a novel use of the internet for shmups besides online leaderboards. I suppose you should be praying Yagawa never thinks of such a thing.

Will these games have high-res Xbox versions, or will it be like Guwange?

UNIVERSAL RANK
An all-action rank-heavy MMO created by Yagawa? I'd play it.

Which would lower the rank, thus making the game easier again, which wpuld reel in more players who getbetterover time, that would again increase the rank...

Eeek... No thank you.

Graveyards on servers across the world will be constantly filled with people waiting to respawn.
Server economies will be screwed up by the prohibitive costs from constantly repairing equipment after a rank decrease.
Millions of players will partake in ritual group suicides and not be frowned upon or pitied.
It will be glorious.

Can't hate the games too much when they're..........REGION-FREE

And really, I liked Ibara anyway...getting to use the goth chick bosses in Pink Sweets just made it an auto-buy for me

I'm not too into MMP, but do you all "SERIOUSLY" hate Pink Sweets, or just joking? What's so bad about it other than the rank? This review seemed pretty positive about it: http://insomnia.ac/reviews/custom/pinksweets/review.php

Here, let me explain what I meant, Special World.

I don't think this will be a popular release.

So I sarcastically made the comment about the bargain bin, insinuating that the game will be cheaper in a few months.

Better?
