re: practicing a stage with whatever option setting you want.

Use the 'rank save' feature of the practice mode, I think this should work. For those that haven't noticed/figure it out it works like so:

In the practice settings, under rank select one of the "Rank X" choices. When you select one of them, it should restrict your choice of starting level to only stage 1. Start the practice session and when it's over, it'll save your 'rank' which should include how many options/type you have. Then you can use that rank to practice wherever you want with those settings.

I have no idea how you kill the true end boss. I was dodging spam in every direction when this swirling vortex of doom bullets came right at me. Guess ya gotta go around those. It was around 2/3 health.

I hate that boss.

Best I could come up with now was a score of 1,03X,XXX on stage 2. Too bad you cant tell what score you end up with if you dont score high enough to make the list.

How the hell am I supposed to get over 6 million to even be able to make the list?!

The original mode score was pretty much the same thing. I went forever on that last boss with no bombs to just hang on for the extra 10 million points. I really need to abuse those bombs in original (I think I used every one I had in that run).

You get a bonus for remaining bombs and lives? Know what they are exactly?

I don't know if we can set two different rapid at the same time (specially for a 20Hz rapid full auto), and I don't understand the option default choices : "ok" or "NG", maybe it's linked...

an other question, in the training mode, I can't select "trace" or "formation", defaut make you play the 4th and 5th stage with formation and I want trace...
Is there smthg to do with the "rank" default option, and load smthg but I don't know, I have nothing to load...

Can you explain what you've done in stage 2 to get 40 million points? When are you using A+ (Rapid shot)? How high are you getting the counter on the midboss?

first, I made a mistake, the rapid full auto at 2 is for 20Hz not 30Hz (which is 1)

I use the "skyrocket" in order to make the counter banking

first I stick (very near/above, sorry my english) the cocoons, and after a moment I smash the C button : skyrocket, I can get 15000 counter after the 1st cocoon

I begin the mid boss with the A+ at 5 trying to do the minimum damage, then after the 3rd shot of laser I shoot him with the rapid full auto at 2 at middle range : skyrocket, my best counter here is 120000 after this mid boss

and I can do 120 millions (edit) without rapid at stage 3 in training, only by smashing the buttons and not very fast

my score is NOT with the defaut rapid (which is without rapid in fact), I set rapid shot at 5 and rapid full auto at 2, for the moment I use them in stage 2 only...

Half the people on this board haven't even recieved their copy yet and I'm sure more will use the rapids later on when it becomes clearer how they are used properly.

as you want (a phantom table sucks), but playing with the rapid buttons should be mentioned

perhaps nobody play with rapids because they don't know how to use them and/or how to config them (and that's not glitch, that's just impossible to smash more than 7Hz a button)

You get 10 million points for each extra life left in stock when you beat the game in every mode, I believe. Nothing for bombs.

Also, I think everyone is still gasping the scoring system on the default setting and are still a long way from maximizing their scores on default. Once scores start to peak, I'm sure more will experiment with various the rapid fire options.

I fought versus the true last boss (a second last boss in stage 5), pretty absurd boss...

Is the true last boss only in arrange mode?

if not, I heard (and see) that the game can be beaten without fighting him (maniac mode for sure without him), can we avoid the last boss?

smbody knows about that possible tricks?

That true last boss only shows up in Arrange and Ultra. You get a much lighter version of him in Arrange mode. The Ultra mode version is just silly.
