Only after a few weeks of owning an iPod Touch, the headphone jack isn't working correctly. I've tried with two different pairs of headphones and my car adapter, and it's not putting out the full spectrum of the sound. I hear crackly hihats and almost no bass on a few techno songs, only the reverbed backing track of the vocals or no vocals at all on some rock songs. Googling it, I see that this is sort of a common problem. The first day I got it, I noticed that the headphones don't quite "click" into the jack like they do on other devices. As much as I hate to go, does anyone know how fair the Apple store's charge would be for this kind of repair? I can call for an exact price when I get around to it, I'm just wondering what other experiences you guys might have had with Apple repairs. Like I said I've only had it for a month so I don't really know if it's under any kind of warranty.
I don't think the iPod Touch was ever a fit for me in the first place. I hate using iTunes, and the Cave games are OK but I can most certainly live without them. The simplest shmups work best on it, like rRootage, but I can play that on my PC just fine. I think my Cave fandom led me astray on this one. I just want my Sansa Fuze back. That thing was absolutely perfect until it went through the wash.
