Thanks, I had emulated these all before but WOW to actually play the real thing is great. I'm really enjoying Super Metriod and Zelda right now. I think I prefer F Zero to Mario Kart but both are fun.Drachenherz wrote:Congratz to your big find! Yes sir! Such a great game. I don't know exactly what it is but it has a certain charm. I can't think of any other game that has it the same.Vyxx wrote:Very nice find buddy!!Pixel_Outlaw wrote:Found these at a local pawn shop. I NEVER score this big. Only $20 bucks.

If you have never played Zelda: ALttP before, you're in for one hell of a treat

IIRC, Super R-Type is kind of a mash-up of R-Type I & II, with levels from each interspersed and a few things changed up.Pixel_Outlaw wrote:The SNES version of R Type seems a little different from the arcade.

Much like arcade monitors, they have a degauss button.mesh control wrote:Jockel wrote:No, 21". Much nicer for me, considering this thing is going to the bedroom.
With those PVM monitors, do you have to have a degassing magnet to tate them? Or would you be able to get away with just pulling the plug and waiting a bit?
where would that button be located? i own the same pvm as jockel, but can't see any button like that on it.jonny5 wrote:Much like arcade monitors, they have a degauss button.mesh control wrote:Jockel wrote:No, 21". Much nicer for me, considering this thing is going to the bedroom.

Hmmmmm... I have seen pics of PVM's with a bank of control buttons on the back of the unit. Perhaps this unit is different?ryu wrote: where would that button be located? i own the same pvm as jockel, but can't see any button like that on it.
ah yes, mine has these. from what i got the one that says "V hold" might actually be degaussing, since it's visual effect is similar to what i read on wikipedia about degaussing. but i really don't know ...jonny5 wrote:Hmmmmm... well, mine came without a remote so i can't access any systems settings ore w/e...jonny5 wrote:It might also be located in the system menu or on the remote control, like on an XM29.
V hold is 'vertical hold', nothing to do with degaussing. The pics I have seen you should have another button nearby the 'vhold' button that says demag or something like that.ryu wrote:ah yes, mine has these. from what i got the one that says "V hold" might actually be degaussing, since it's visual effect is similar to what i read on wikipedia about degaussing. but i really don't know ...jonny5 wrote:Hmmmmm...
