Deathsmiles II looks and plays like a doujin title IMO, but it's fun.

Not as fun as the first game, though. And everytime I play a lot of deathsmiles and then try to put the second game in it becomes even more noticeable.

The main thing that pisses me off about DSII is to get the really high scores you have to play the game in a way that's completely boring to me (running from the sperm bullets over and over, charge, repeat).

I've seen superplays where the dude barely even uses normal shot after the first level powerup.

X-Mode is so much more fun to play and actually seems more like what the sequel to the first game should have been like (or a sequel to MBL because of the crazy scores).

For some reason, they're adding USB keyboard support.
Prometheus will rejoice.
Wow !!! That's awesome news !! Did you guys heard of a similar plan for Mushihimesama Futari 360 ?? I would soooo get into it if they were to do that. >_<
Anyone tried it ? Can you set up your own key config ?

are they seriously patching this with keyboard support? LOL

does that mean they're adding an initial option for scores finally?

I haven't fired this up in a couple months since I 1CCed all the modes, I wonder if they're changing anything else.

The main thing this package needs are uploadable/downloadable replays for arcade mode. It's truly bewildering that such options were left out.

Hell yes. I wish I could see how some of those monster runs are done.

But like others have said, Asada didn't even want arcade mode in it, they threw that shit in as a bonus in like 2 days. So it doesn't surprise me that they don't want replays clogging up the server.

I think they've over done it with replays in the other titles. It should just be the top 10 or top 20 that are allowed uploadable replays IMO with an option to send replays to friends, although I think it might be possible to take your replay files to a friends console using a memory unit or USB stick.

Nope. For the Cave published Cave games, it's 50/50. Deathsmiles and Galuda are both limited to top 10 replay uploads. Whereas Futari and Deathsmiles 2X allow replay uploads beyond the top 20. If you take into account all Cave games available on the 360, most allow replay uploads above the top 20 as DOJBLEX and Ketsui both allow replay uploads beyond the top 20.

I played this for the first time on Christmas day, and it really won me over. I'd heard people complain about the 3D graphics, but I really loved them. I haven't checked out the arcade version, but the IIX version is eye candy and fun to play.

embarassing question, but I've spent the last half an hour looking. I just got the game today - how do I rotate the display? I've tried with screen adjust on the main options page, and then I went into each separate mode and tried to find display options - which I couldn't. And then ingame I pressed start and there's no option menus.

this isn't in regards to letterboxing or anything like that, I just want to tate!

But it's a horizontal game, there is no tate, nor is there any reason to tate.

Figured that may be the case. Makes sense. Was this played in arcades with a horizontal based/widescreen cab? That's what made me wonder about Tate in the first place.

It was horizontal but not widescreen. Note that arcade mode is 4:3 in the port. The other modes are unique to the Xbox.

And is that the cat's litterbox next to the monitor? Hehe :)

There's something I need to know.

So the package contains arcade mode, 4:3 but no screen adjust, so no fullscreen on any TV, even 4:3?
Xbox mode which plays like the arcade version (?) but with updated graphics and widescreen (?) no 4:3?
Then arrange mode which is a different gameplay (?).

Is that correct? Is there a black label somewhere?

Arcade mode on Deathsmiles II 360 plays with artwork borders on both sides of the screen on a 16:9 display. On a 4:3 display, black borders are added to the top and bottom in addition.

IIX mode does not play like Arcade mode - there are significant differences besides the expanded play area, such as the level selection and extra stage/boss. All the modes in the disc are unique.
