Great :) but i already know that 90% of this forum will say "oh well, its rubbish" as they are like sheep that way. Who perpetrated the rumour originally that this is pants?

I'd be a little more interested in some Sweets than some Pork, but both would make a spectacular meal.

Nobody else is thinking that (aside from the extra mode/music and 16:9) this is what the arcade release should have been by v1.5 or so? Well, whatever...

Everything seems to have gotten a nice visual polish—and given that the game seems to have been designed ground-up for 360, the port should be very accurate.

Can't help but wonder if they've got a contingency plan for SDTVs. If they don't make the text larger, a fair amount of stuff isn't going to be readable. Like...your score.

...also where's the pork :(

Yeah. That track was a new low for...uh, game music in general. Hope that's the absolute worst of the AST, for whoever's buying it.

Small update to the first post, now that I've had some sleep. Reorganized the information we know a bit, and added an Elixir-style breakdown. I -think- this is everything we know, but I'll look again after I go back to bed. Feel free to point out anything I missed.

I'm not sure if it's the same trailer, but the official site has HD trailers in 29.97fps and 59.94fps. They're in WMV format.

More evidence that the Death Smiles series is best classified as cute-em-up? Santa in sleigh, decorated Christmas trees, jolly Christmas tunes...

What really pushed me towards not liking this wasn't the 3D or the zillions of revisions. Or even the annoying x-mas theme.

It's that after all that, this is what a good play of the last stage looks like.

It looks about as exciting as watching paint dry, sorry.

Also, here is a replay of DS 2 3.0 from the same player.

None of the other stages looked paticuarly interesting either (SLOWLY FALLING WALL MILKING!)

You can easily find the rest of the play on that guy's youtube channel, if interested.

The question is, will I buy this just because I'm such a Cave/Deathsmiles fan, even though it looks like rubbish? It comes out on my birthday; maybe they're trying to tell me something.

The jp xbl video is in the new arrival video slot. It just doesn't have a cover pic.

Sure, if you like lolita's gothic theme they're just telling you to buy it
Anyway, 3D aside I hope that at least gameplay mechanics are cool and that it tourns out to be a fun shooter.

safe to say this is Cave's most controversial game

polygons
little boys in lingerie
homing sperm bullets
santa claws/xmas
joy to the world?

I'll admit I was really hating on Deathsmiles 2 after only seeing some crappy youtube videos. The first game is what made me break down and buy a 360 and it did not disappoint. This new trailer looks a little bit better, but still makes me shake my head. I know there have been a few revisions of DS2 and I'd be willing to bet that they are going to do everything they can to make the 360 port as refined and complete as they need to for it to do well. As with any shooter, as long as the level design is interesting I'll be happy.
