The only surprise is that its taken so long for this to happen. And that EA havent orchestrated it.

How original: a conspiracy in New York’s drug underworld. *cough* Max Payne *cough*
How to be a successful rap artist (and I'm using a very loose definition of "artist" here): be black, muscular, and always make that angry face; having a real criminal past gives street cred; curse all the time; talk of women as whores, and of yourself as a stallion; don't bother trying to sing or play instruments, since all the actual music in your songs will be made of samples shamelessly ripped from actual musicians' works.

So it's basically like early punk, but with a different race, muscular instead of lanky, slightly longer songs, and sampling replaces "playing one generic chord over and over"?Stormwatch wrote:How original: a conspiracy in New York’s drug underworld. *cough* Max Payne *cough*

Excellent point. A lot of music is about image above all else. Picking on rap is a bit unfair.sethsez wrote:So it's basically like early punk, but with a different race, muscular instead of lanky, slightly longer songs, and sampling replaces "playing one generic chord over and over"?Stormwatch wrote:How original: a conspiracy in New York’s drug underworld. *cough* Max Payne *cough*
