Or is there any way to tell until I try it out? I'm asking because, while I've had great experiences with this boot disc in the past, Neon's GameShark CDX boot disc, which he checked and was working on his DC, will not work on my Dreamcast, nor will any other CD-R I've tried.
Also-given the condition that my DC is in, would it work to have the thing chip-modded?
Given that my DC won't read CD-R's will the DC-X work??...

your problem to do with disc recognition may be the model of dreamcast you own the older ones are notoriously better for playing roms and cdrs than the later ones, think its DCs made pre september 2000 that are more suited to roms. Its the same thing as only certain dcs can play bleem!.
