I appreciate the vote of confidence, but that sounds scary...especially taking on the Hulk and Wolverine.

For instance with Godhand instead of filler text like "nonstop thrilling action" and a one-liner like they probably did they could have described the fighting system and how it blows away button mashers like Dynasty Warriors while packaging the game like a fine Swiss chocolate. That would prevent stupid IGN reviewers who care more about the deadline from putting out unchallenged disinformation at least.
Hey don't get me wrong I was obviously trolling (though I wouldn't say a supermodel "fucked up" by not dating me etc.), but there's really just no way that most of Clover's games would ever have appealed to the casual gamer without being terribly dumbed down.

Yessss Arthur and M.O.D.O.K. confirmed for Mahvel 3.

Arthur gameplay:

Nathan Spencer ( bionic commando reboot :( ) gameplay:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/nycc- ... -vs/705872

(His crappy design is obv disappointing but it looks like he's fun to play as - and he actually says 'Get over here!')

Magneto too, but who cares?

Can't wait for M.O.D.O.K., best character ever.

I'm seriously baffled as to why Capcom would pick the near-universally-despised "Rad" for inclusion in this while leaving so many other quality licenses out...

Oh no Mike Patton Dreadlock Commando.
"Rad"
It's NATHAN. Rad is too rad a name for a modern game character.

I don't want to start a new thread for bad news, so I'll just plop it here because it's tangentially related:
Konami's terrible six player arcade X-Men beat 'em up is coming for XBLA. Features online multiplayer. Did I mention it's terrible? Like Konami's worst licensed beat 'em up? Which is really saying something because they're all basically terrible?

I'm sad that characters like Felicia and Rad Spencer make it in and no Gene or Mega Man X which are requested a lot.

Yeah... they could burn Felicia for all I care.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I prefer her inclusion to Morrigan's...do we really need another pseudo-Ryu clone in EVERY crossover title just because it has b00bz?

X-Men is a great game. I used to think it was kinda boring for its lack of combos until I became in tune with its SHUMP like patterns. Just think of the enemies as bullet patterns. You can barely keep still, plus unlike SHUMP you can kick people while they're down and throw them and BERSERKER BARRAGE. Compared to this BUMP, most SHUMP are tedious button mashers. Knocking Blob on his ass right after he says nothing can move him and "Welcome to die!" also.

(I'm talking about the single screen version maybe others are different)

@ Lordstar: I just played Bucky O'Hare and The Simpsons and you are pretty badly wrong! Bucky O'Hare A) isn't really a bmup and B) is actually pretty damn playable, probably the best of Konami's licensed arcade games. Sort of like if NARC scrolled in one direction and didn't absolutely hate you. Special powers are actually a point in its favour, unlike the terrible ones in X-Men, and levels aren't just one big Capcom-bmup-esque flat plane, unlike in X-Men (which, needless to say, doesn't have Capcom bmup patented 'good gameplay'). It has even blander and uglier spriting than X-Men though, which is an achievement. The Simpsons isn't a great game, but it's much, much better than X-Men. Looks better, plays better, tons more variety, it has environmental interaction and the co-op elements are novel and superior. X-Men is absurdly repetitive and has terrible pacing and enemy variety. It is also a cheap, broken asshole of a game, and you better believe they'll either rebalance the game for the XBLA port or just give you a massive stack of creds. It is possible to 1cc it (at least in 4 player mode it is) but goddamn. Also, I don't even like the comic book but talk about franchise abuse - Wolverine and Colossus just have stupid lazor explosion powers and Juggernaut carries a gun!

@JoshF: X Men as a shmup ... I am not seeing this. There isn't anything about the way the enemies are introduced, their numbers or their behaviour that suggest that to me. You mean how they don't take much beating to kill? Are you sure you didn't get really drunk and play AvP instead? Because that is very shmup-y and is flat-out awesome to boot. Please explain!

I disagree with you. I enjoyed it and for an 18 year old game its fantastic. One of the better 18 year old games out there. The vocals and music is still mind blowing now.

Then they introduced spring-loaded weapons in the arms and everything was RUINED FOR GAMERS!! This mvcCASHGRAB will leave ghamersx crying in the corners for weeks clutching their character licenses like worthless shares of teh stock markets! Captain N tha Game Master FO LYFE!!

Well, I'm sure there's like five hundred versions of MVC3 for MUGEN just for you then.

How many buttons is going to have the gameplay??? Are they sticking with the 3 buttons layout or have they make up their minds and changed it for a 4 buttons?

my only complaint is some of the character look a bit shiny in MVC3. Ive no doubt i will get over it though. The font they used for player one win and combo meters was pissing me off for a little bit but im over that now. Looks quite good if you read comics today.

to be fair he can see it right here on the net. From the videos it looks like it plays really close to MVC2

Okay, since peeps were posting about Konami X-Men today, I feel compelled to mention that Arcade Legacy in Cincinnati has a giant 6-player X-Men in the middle of the place which is in good condition. $10 for the whole day and all games are free play. They also have tons of other cool stuff but I don't want to drive you even more crazy than I already did.

I bought this, even though I gave up on fighters a long time ago.

I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm terrible.

But wow, the game looks amazing. Any Marvel or Capcom fan should check it out.
