Oh man, I want to play as Hibachi! If that's real, which I bet it is, I'll b pissed if it takes some inhuman requirement.

Yeah, pretty easy, just have a hyper ready to go by the time you reach the mid-boss and train your sights on killing any tanks that appear to be approaching the silos (eyes to the top of the screen.)

I think you also need to trigger all the bees beforehand, but not 100% sure on this. Either way, it all happens in the first 30 seconds, so if you fail just hit restart. Once you trigger one hidden boss, getting the next few seem very easy for some reason - most I've had is 4 out of 5 stages.

There should totally be an OpenFeint achievement for that somehow...

I read up on triggering the old bosses, which I make a point of doing every time now, and my scores are really suffering because of it. Not sure what to make of that. :|

Anyway about sticky buttons, I've been cleaning my ipad with electronic/monitor wipes since I bought it a week ago and the controls were getting less and less responsive every day. Turns out you're only supposed to use a damp cloth since any kind of cleaner supposedly eats away at the protective screen coating over time. Long story short I used the damp cloth and everything is working just like when it was new. Not saying there isn't an issue present within the game or anything but a proper cleaning really helped me.

That's a cool wall paper... snagging that for a insert. I was looking for something with the ships pictured originally.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

From http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1283613&postcount=266:
For iphone mode, you can enter the normal 2nd loop by collecting more than 35 bees and no continue clear the game, and enter the hidden 2nd loop if you play at normal or hard difficulty and collect all 45 bees (which means you have to always stay in the hidden route from stage 1, because there's only 7 bees per stage in normal route while 9 bees in hidden route) and no continue clear the game. This is FAR MORE EASIER than the arcade mode!!!! You can use bombs or die as you wish, as long as you get all bees and 1cc the game, you are bound to enter the hidden 2nd loop.

Therefore, guys, if you really wants to take a look at the hidden boss, try iphone mode.

If you beat the hidden 2nd loop, you can unlock the final hidden boss "HIBACHI" as a playable character in iphone mode. It's definitely the most powerful playable character in the game with 360 degree shots (when S guage is maxed) and strongest laser among the four.

I would totally get an iPad just for Cave ports. I don't care if 2/3 of this forum and all of #shmups will hunt me down and murder me for it.

Maybe you should verify your credit card info. I've never seen this once in all my years with iTunes, and I'm using it for apps, audio, video..

Yeah, I did some research and it has to do with my password lacking a capitalized letter and a number. Pretty dumb.

It's actually pretty smart. I do a lot of information security work and strong passwords are a good thing, especially when you are talking about an account that is linked to a bank or credit card.

It's funny that the review considers the iPhone mode to be the main game, with arcade mode as a sideshow.

As I understand it, he just enjoys the iPhone mode more. That's fair enough. This isn't supposed to be an "arcade perfect" port anyway, as the analogue control method makes a huge difference to begin with.

Yeah I suppose. But I'm not necessarily referring to arcade perfect or any of that nonsense. While Galuda II's phone mode was cool, I thought DFK's kinda sucked.

Hey guys,

I am working on taking pictures (screenshots) of the bees you must collect and currently busy on level 3. It is very hard to take screenshots when CPU is busy with bullets !
Already done 1st and 2nd level (you can watch it on my personnal cave database review).
If someone wants to help..

I just now downloaded a new patch and says it fixes the button responsiveness issue. Can't play it at the moment, but does anyone notice a difference?

Just in case you don't know, if you activate the Ura bosses, you get 2 extra bees and some of the locations change. Just another thing to take note of.

The new patch makes a load of difference. Could switch between laser and shot super quickly and easily. The spin-spin mechanic in iPhone mode is MUCH smoother as well. Also seems like the sound has been mixed, the voices come through a great deal louder and more clearly.

I already know thanks. I'm so excited every time I activate URA boss that I forgot to shot the bees ^^

I updated last night and in the first stage my ship came to a complete freeze during movement that requires me to release the shot button to free it up.

I don't know how many people are using the hold button for laser mechanic, but if anything the patch seems to have made it worse. :|

I'll give it a little more play today, but that particular freezing issue has definitely not been fixed.

That's interesting. I have changed laser controls from "switch" to "hold" and think that pressing the soft buttons is way better than before (I only tried it once before the update and had enormous problems).

However, I did notice the freeze issue – it rarely happens to me and I believe that it only occurs if I accidentally release my right index finger (the one moving the ship) making the game recognize my thumb as the only pointing device.

Cave just posted a video on how to access the hidden route

The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.
